I currently use vitamin a serum at night. would the r take the place of that?

It might, I recommend using it in a small area of your face first a see how your skin reacts to it. If there is no burning or redness then apply it in whole face.

Is this supposed to be thick like gel or liquid like water? My order is very thick and hard to squeeze out

it is half way between gel and water, very easy to draw from the bottle and apply on the skin!
