I'm trying to connect a charger and a wd external portable ssd to my android. the charger is working great, but the ssd isn't showing up. please help?

Dear customer,the one reason is that the usb c otg must use only FAT32 formatting for USB drives or SD cards,as anything formatted as exFAT or NTFS will eject as soon as you plug it in,it passed power and the Type-A port was usable at USB 2.0 speeds to read drives and SD cards.And the other reason is that mobile phones with 3.5 headphone jack may not support the cable.Thanks for your question.

Can it charge the phone while video is being sent through from a camera from usb video capture stick ! ?????

I only tested it with OTG USB Webcams, not a video capture stick, but they are conceptually very similar. In the case of USB cameras, yes, the Y cable powers the phone, which in turn powers the camera. If you disconnect the power, the USB camera and phone go through a disconnection and reconnection cycle, as the USB port on the phone turns from slave to master. When you reconnect the power, the same thing, the camera gets disconnected and reconnected. The cable acts as a powered USB hub, with the ability to power the phone in PD mode.

Im trying to connect the external hard drive to galaxy tab s7. Would this work?

You would only need this type of connection if you need to charge and or power your device will also using the USB

Is this cable really plug & play? not getting a charge through the c port, not getting data reads on the a port. tried on two diff win10 dell laptops.

Yes it is, you may have a bad cable.

Works as advertised. (USB C header for power only.

This device works fine, but i am returning it anyway. I wanted to be able to plug in a thumb drive and headphones at the same time. I can plug in the flash drive to the full size usb port, but the other wire will only accept charging and will not work with an aux adapter.Still giving the item 5 stars as it works just as advertised and feels well made.

Works with S9+ and Scarlet 2i2 and a fast charger

I do some amateur music recording using a Samsung S9+ and a Scarlet 2i2. My phone would run out of juice in about 30 minutes from full charge. With this adapter I am able to connect a fast charger and my phone actually charges when I'm using it in this setup and is normally at 100% well before im done.This same setup did not work with a Pixel 6 pro. I will try it with a 30 watt charger and report.

Works as advertised

The USBC portion does not allow you to connect extra things, it only allows you to charge your phone. But if you're looking to connect a mouse or anything else to your phone while charging it it works beautifully and would recommend this product for those purposes.

Does not work with Z-Tab tablets

Cable did not work. It did not charge. It did not connect second device. Given the price of gas and/or UPS return it is not worth returning. Try a different brand.Updated review. It was not the cables fault. It just doesn't work with the tablet we have.

Worked for 2 days then quit charging or reading data

Worked for 2 days with my generic Android 13 tablet. Charged and read data. Then quit charging or reading data from the memory stick. Too much trouble to return this $10 item.

Great adapter!

I use this for connecting the USB cord on my Blue Yeti microphone to record on my iPhone 15 Pro Max!I also love the Type C port on the bottom. It allows me to charge my iPhone while I record with the microphone!

Serves it's purpose

This thing does work, but has quirks. I use it to charge my tablet and use a Bluetooth game controller dongle at the same time. And it will randomly switch off and on and will disconnect my controller. No real rhyme or reason why that I can tell that it does it. Least it's fairly cheap?

The Perfect Solution

Perfect for charging phone and powering USB drive simultaneously while phone streams music to dogs in garage. Exactly as advertised. Arrived days later than expected, but a fantastic adapter worth waiting for.
