California Board Company Wood Skimmer (39.5-Inch) Skimboard

Used once and the layers are starting to separate at the tip of the board. We have other brands that have lasted years without this issue.

Board broke the 1st time my son used it while on vacation. My son took it out for the 1st beach day and it began coming apart...this is the first time it was used! I ordered it to be used for the week on vacation but it obviously didn't hold up 1 day! Poor quality for the cost

I didn't want to spend $150 or more on a board for my son. This one works well enough, but it does not have the "cool factor" at the beach. It also seems to be a bit wider and longer than the fiberglass boards.

Not as pictured! My son was so disappointed when he opened his birthday gift and saw a wooden skim board with the word "California" written in blue cursive with green and white logo. I am so upset. Why can't items be pictured as are?????

Love it as a starter board. Never skimmed before and this board turned out to be great!! Get surf wax or some sort of stomp pad for traction when wet.

I bought these for my grandsons , 8 years and 10 years. The boys loved them and the boards were almost perfect. I say almost because the finish on the top is so smooth (looks great) it is a bit slippery to bare feet. I think I will apply some wax to the top side to give a bit of traction for the feet. The boys are "hooked" on sandbar skimming now.

I DID get a wood skim board but it doesn't look anything like what is pictured. It was wood coloured with some green and white paint in a very different pattern. Still nice, but if you are looking for this exact skim board you may not be happy. In the end, it didn't really matter but since it was for my 11 year old's birthday, it caused a bit of upset since it wasn't what he was expecting.

The product was great itself. The price tag was included. Paid 50 from Amazon's but the seller on sells at 29.99. disappointed in ya Amazon, least take the tag out

The outer resin sealant on the board we received was not evenly applied. As a result, the board itself has large areas where water can penetrate into the plywood core of the board. If not properly sealed, the board (made of plywood) will likely warp and and crack after it becomes wet and then dries out under normal use.
