I usually can't pass up a pear martini, so when I was looking for mocktail recipes I thought a pear shrub would be just the ticket. These don't disappoint. I served it with ginger lime mule seltzer water and a squeeze of lime juice and the result was very tasty. The vinegar gives it just a bit of kick that helps replace the sharp flavor of the vodka (if you're making as a mocktail - I'm sure it's great with alcohol, too). Highly recommend.

It makes for a great substitute for the acid from citrus in a cocktail. Please be aware that this will sink to the bottom of a drink so keep a spoon or stir stick in your drink to mix it up between sips. If you don't you may have the unpleasant experience of sipping straight vinegar once you reach the bottom of the glass.
