A solid good performing CPU with plenty of punch for gaming and multitasking
Worked like a charm and gave me no trouble when I installed in on my new ASUS ROG motherboard. I built a new system as I finally moved to Windows 11 and I was a bit concerned that all new hardware would cause me some problems in set-up but that wasn't the case. The heat levels are well controlled by both software and the cooling fans that I installed. I use stand alone Nvidea graphics card and the system delivers excellent grahics for the level of online gaming I do. All together I'm pleased with speed and power and 6 cores is more than enough for my purposes. It handles the 6 HDD & 2 CD/DVD recorder/players I still use once in awhile.

Fast Multi-threaded proc - great value
I write this review in the midst of the great chip shortage and video card mining debacle of 2021. In short - my GeForce 980TI failed. Video card prices are through the roof, even the used market has gone stupid. I picked this up after watching some reviews online and reading about it. Lets get right to it. Gaming Performance - I play a mix of games - Elder Scrolls Online (ESO), Diablo II Resurrected, Outer Worlds, and Fallout 4. Stock cooler, stock speeds, motherboard set to XMP profile 2 on my RAM. ESO - 1080p, mix of low and medium settings - 45 - 70 frames per second with 58 being the average. Diablo II Resurrected - 1080p low. 40 - 60 frames per second Outer Worlds - 720p, high and medium mixed settings - 50 frames per second. Fallout 4 - 1080p medium, 50 - 60 frames per second I do not play competitive games like Fortnite or Valorant, though there are plenty of reviews of this chip playing those games on YouTube. So here are the pros and cons: Pros - fast, good chip, excellent multi-thread performance (so if you do any sort of encoding or editing of pics, vids, etc) this thing is super fast, the Vega 7 graphics are good for what they are. This thing overclocks like a champ too, I was able to get it up 4.4ghz with the stock cooler... I wouldn't leave it there, but if you pick up a better cooler this thing would be a rocket. Best of all it slipped right into a my MSI B450 Mortar motherboard after a bios update. Cons - If you want to overclock this thing you need to a better cooler. Period. You also need fast RAM for the best performance out of the both the proc and the video (I would say minimum of 3600mhz RAM... I am using 4400 mhz). The Vega graphics are perfectly fine by my standards (MINE), if you are a competitive gamer and need to have the highest, best, fastest frame rates all the time, then you'd be better off either scouring the used market or waiting for video card prices to return to some form of sanity.

The APU King for a Budget Mini-ITX Build
This Ryzen 5 5600G was the perfect CPU for the compact PC I built a few years ago. It’s a powerful little 6-Core/12-Thread chip that offers incredible performance for the price. What makes it great for a small system is the integrated Radeon Graphics. This let me postpone buying a dedicated GPU for a long time without sacrificing general usability. It ran everything perfectly on the Gigabyte A520I AC motherboard and was reliably powered by the Thermaltake 650W PSU. If you’re building a small form factor PC or a budget gaming rig, this is the ultimate starting point. It works perfectly to this day and has been rock-solid.

Great CPU for cheap PC builder.
Great builder CPU for basic home/office tasks. I built a budget desktop for basics and was trying to stay under $350 total. This is a great CPU for that and have not complaints about performance or efficiency. It runs very cool in a small case with minimal cooling options.

Incredible Performance and Value with Integrated Graphics
The AMD Ryzen 5 5600G is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a CPU with integrated graphics. It's perfect for those building a low-cost gaming PC or for using your system until you can get a dedicated GPU. The performance is outstanding—I can run a wide variety of programs and systems without any issues. This CPU not only provides great efficiency, but it also does so at a very reasonable price. I'm truly impressed with its quality and performance, and it has exceeded my expectations. It’s one of the best purchases I’ve made, and I have no regrets at all. If you're looking for a budget-friendly yet powerful option, this is definitely the way to go.

Good processor
I'm quite happy with the upgrade. I've never had any issues with AMD CPUs, and they genrally cost less than Intel for about the same performance. I can't say how it would perform on a gamer PC. It handles general PC stuff like surfing and office work just fine.

Dennoch total geniale CPU, wenn man kompakte PCs bauen will. Nachtrag Mai 2024: Immernoch total irre.

Smooth and fast boot-up from Window 11 and fast graphic display on the monitor. Good performance and quality for value compared to its competitor. I always enjoy AMD though I have had Intel before. This is really a good CPU as most put it!

AMD Ryzen 5 5600G is an excellent value for money proposition. For those who want good performance at lower price point it does not get better than this. This processor uses the older AM4 socket and only supports DDR4 The cooler (wraith stealth) in the box comes with thermal paste applied. Do not touch it! there is no sticker on top of it and can be installed directly on top of CPU. There are you tube videos that help with this step Do not buy motherboards greater then those based on the B450 chipset. This processor can only use PCie3.0 and not PCIe4.0 therefore motherboards based on B550 and above chipsets offer no performance improvements even at a higher price (note: if you are getting a separate GPU with PCIe 4.0 e.g. AMD radeon RX 6500XT or want to use NVMe SSD with M.2 and PCIe 4.0, you might want to look at AMD Ryzen 5600X, which supports PCIe4.0. Of course 5600X is more expensive and does not have iGPU) Processor is easy to install. The cineBench R23 score for this processor is around 10900 points (multi core) and 1500 points (single core) which is better than a 9th gen core i9 (the direct competitor for this processor from intel is the i5 12400, which has slightly better performance (10-15%) as it is newer. It is also pricier as are the compatible motherboards. Also it supports DDR 5 which 5600G does not. The iGPU in 5600G is vastly superior though ) The onboard Radeon Vega 6 graphics is also performative, with 30-40 FPS in modern games (tested with ghostrunner demo) at medium settings. This iGPU will hands down beat most or all intel iGPU and is a good choice for playing games on medium to low settings at 1080P without needing a separate GPU. If playing older games (prior to 2018) performance will be even better Always pair this processor with a dual RAM kit, never a single RAM stick, as Ryzen processor and the iGPU performance benefits from running memory in dual channel mode All the best with your new build! Edit: my component list with price is as follows (July 2023 prices. Indian rupees. In Dollars it is about 380 Dollars total) Ryzen 5 5600G processor-13,000 Rs Asus prime B450M II motherboard-7,500 Rs Adata XPG D50 DDR4 3200MT/s16Gb RAM kit - 4,500 Rs Gigabyte P450 power supply - 2,500 Rs Deepcool Matrexx SI 30 case - 2,300 Rs Total: approx 31,000 Rs Didn't need storage so didn't buy. Would strongly suggest a 512Gb/1Tb PCIe 3rd gen NVMe M.2 SSD for boot drive Would suggest a deepcool case Matrexx SI 40 or higher as that case would be easier to build in and cable manage I also bought a deepcool AK 400 cooler a month later as the thermals were poor. You may not need it, but if you do this is a good cooler at 2,400 Rs Edit: the included stock cooler is unable to handle the heat, with processor running at 45 to 50 degree celsius on idle and max workloads like cinebench and folding at home pushing it to theoretical max of 95 degrees. My case Deep cool matrexx sl30 results in 5-8 degree celsius higher temperature So separate cpu cooler required in my case.
