Amazon Basics Executive Home Office Desk Chair with Padded Armrests, Adjustable Height and Tilt, Rolling Swivel Chair, 275 Pound Capacity, Brown and Gold

My son LOVES this desk chair. He has a drafting table to draw and do schoolwork on, and this provides him a comfortable chair to work in. It is sturdy and easy to clean. It does not fold, but it does roll easily. It was VERY EASY to put together. We were also pleased with the price. He will be able to use it for years to come.

When I was a boy, my first office chair that I used for PC and laptop work growing up was this chair. This was back before 2010 so it likely wasn't under the Amazon Basics brand but it was the exact same chair design. I've used that chair my entire life really and only had to buy this chair as a replacement as the leather started peeling significantly on my old chair after over 20 years of use. Even though the leather was heavily peeled, my old chair was still extremely comfortable and I would've kept on using it had I not gotten annoyed with having to pick up leather bits and pieces everyday from the peeling. I bought this chair as a replacement and the comfort is still as I remembered. No lower back pain, no butt numbness, no arm numbness, truly such a masterpiece of a chair where it lets you focus on the task at hand instead of focusing on the chair. Before I rebought this chair, I've bought & tried the Secretlab Titan Evo Nanogen, Furmax executive office chair, Neo executive office chair, RS high back gaming chair w/ flip-up armrests, Bestfair high-back office chair, FDW executive office chair, Herman Miller Aeron, and OFIKA executive office chair in search of a potential "upgrade" - every single one of these other chairs was inferior to the Amazon Basics high back office chair in one way or the other. The only thing I will note is that the pneumatic gas cylinder of the Amazon Basics office chair seems to be different from my original chair - it goes higher and has a higher minimum seat height. If you would like to perfectly replicate the original lower seat depth you will have to buy the S6124 extra short office chair gas lift cylinder from ChairPartsOnline - my only nitpick about such a phenomenal chair. In my attached picture I have the Amazon Basics chair w/ S6124 gas cylinder on the right next to the Furmax high-back office chair which although inferior is what I consider to be the 2nd best chair if for some reason you cannot get the Amazon Basics high-back office chair. To sum it up - I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CHAIR!!!

I have a lot of experience with these chairs. I have been tracking the price of these chairs for the past year. They had been $ 159 up till a few days ago when Amazon notified me of the price decrease, $ 120 (I guess because the chair was on my wish list). I jumped on it, at $ 120 dollars they are a great value. Package arrived in two days, package a little beat up but contents were perfect. Assembly : Assemble the wheeled base per instructions and attach bottom cushion . The key to easily and quick assembly is to attach the arms to the base cushion very, very loosely. If the arms are tightened down to the base you can not successfully line up the back cushion to the arm holes. Then loosely attach the top bolts through arms to the chair back then bottom bolts. I use an electric drill with a hex adapter (not the little enclosed Allen wrench ) and was able to put the chair together in less than 15 minutes, including unpacking. Note I am 71 years old with some physical disabilities. Issues with this chair. We first purchased similar chairs from Amazon about 12 years ago for around $ 100. We used these as our kitchen chairs, they are comfortable and sturdy even after long hours of sitting and held up well but after 8 or 9 years the bonded/man made leather covering started to flake and peel as this type of "leather" tends to do with heavy use. (You should not expect a lifetime of heavy use from an inexpensive office chair). I was very pleased with chairs, comfortable for my big frame , So ordered replacement chairs from Amazon which were just slightly different in the style of back cushion (would not notice difference unless pointed out). Unlike the old chairs, within two years the "backs" started breaking. I am 6 feet plus at 225 and my sons are a little bigger. As it turned out the sockets/nuts (inside the cushion base) that the arms bolts were attached to had pulled through the plywood inside the base cushion. (It seems the plywood base of the slightly restyled chairs is not nearly as strong). I repaired chairs by bolting a metal bar ( approx. 1/8 x 4 x 1 inch) to the underside of the plywood base inside the cushion. This requires taking the arms off the chair and opening up the side seams (many staples). Repaired chairs are holding up well. If you are not a big person (my wife, 130 pounds & 5 ft. 8 in.) has not broken her new style chair after 3 years. Time will tell if this newest chair holds up. P.S. Do not confuse this chair with the slightly less expensive (About $100) look alike office chair. The covering of the less expensive chair is very, very thin and will not hold up.

Years ago I had the PERFECT office chair. It lasted forever it seemed like. I bought a second just like it for my office and gave my expensive "executive chair" to one of the staff. When I retired, I left it that one behind, only to have my home chair finally start shedding so bad it had to be replaced. The company seemed to be gone. They made their chairs TOO GOOD. I've tried several since then and the stunk. THEN I FOUND THIS ONE. It is IDENTICAL to my first and longest "love seat". Looks like Amazon bought the rights to it and my butt thinks it's home again! Sturdy. Comfy. Good reclining. Wide enough. And most important, it doesn't wobble around like a chair with one leg missing. AND IT'S A GREAT PRICE. GET THIS CHAIR. You'll love it.

This chair is a quality purchase. It's beautiful, comfortable, it was easy to put together. It looks exactly as pictured, and I couldn't be happier. It gives me the support I need when pulling long hours creating art, or studying. I have enough room to sit comfortably in different positions. Im 5'5, and on the smaller size, but my 6ft husband who is larger finds the chair very comfortable as well. Completely recommend!

Assembly instructions were not included - However, the parts and single allen key tool were neatly packaged, and a quick google search provided a quick video to check the order of assembly. Took all of 10 minutes, and was straightforward. Finished product is gorgeous and comfy. Note that there is no "reclining" function as the back and arms are fixed, but the up down is solid, swivels great, glides smoothly and for the price, it's a great chair.

Everything I hoped this chair would be. Well padded and fairly easy to put together although it is tricky to attach the back to the side arms - it took me a total of 1.25 hours from the time I opened the box. I did change the standard cheap casters with better ones (Slueli) which are smoother and easier on the chair pad.

For the price this is one of the best office chairs you can buy. It is extremely comfortable and durable. The leather on the chair gives it a nice texture and is extremely comfortable to sit on. The back support is excellent and offers good spinal support. I did not find myself getting tired or feeling uneasy when using this chair for long stretches. The chair at its lowest height setting is still higher than most and you may find that your feet barely touch the ground. A footrest is recommended. The instructions for putting all the parts together were fairly simple and can be done by one person. It shouldn't take longer than 30 min to assemble. The packaging it arrived in was damaged and it damaged the plastic shielding on the legs. There were some scratches on the metal surface too but that seems to be a problem with the shipping carrier.
