VersaTex Multipurpose Utility Mat

This was the answer to my problems. For years, I've had our kitchen garbage and recycle cans on a padded mat. They were constantly slipping and moving, bumping into the walls and scuffing the paint. I bought some clear bumper pads to put on the cans as a solution at the same time I bought this mat, but what I found was, this mat holds the cans in place. I like it because it's flush with the floor, making cleanups easy. I can drop liquid and know that it's water resistant. I got the black because it was the best choice. The fit was fine right out of the box, but you can cut them to fit your space. I'm buying another for our rental space.

I have three of these mats now, and they are sturdy and good quality. I believe the mats are meant to be used in a garage or for heavy duty work, and I’m pretty confident they would hold up well for that. I use them in my house though to protect the floors in certain spots - one in my hallway to cover a dip in the floor, and two under my cat’s litter boxes. They’re easy to clean, but they are textured so it can be difficult to wipe down with something thin like a paper towel without it getting torn up. Just use a rag though (or a water hose if outside) and it will be good to go. They do slide around a bit on hardwood floors if you’re walking on them a lot. Overall I’m happy for what I’m using them for.

Used this to go under a high chair so it wouldn’t scratch up the floors. It has been working well. The mat isn’t slip resistant so my husband had to rig up a weight under the chair to keep it in place (the baby kept pushing the high chair around on our floors). However, if you don’t need a slip resistant mat, this is a good one. It’s not super thick but it is durable and great value for money.

I bought this mat to be used as a base on a jigsaw puzzle table. The table came with felt as the base, that shreds easily. The rubber seems to be working very well - puzzle pieces are easy to place and do not slide around too much. Give it a try!
