Lexar 240GB NQ100 SSD 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal Solid State Drive, Up to 550MB/s Read, Gray (LNQ100X240G-RNNNU)

I was a little dubious about this drive when I got it. I’m used to buying nice Barracuda HDDs, and the idea of getting a cheap Amazon SSD and trusting my data to it seemed foolhardy. But I’ve had this one for over 3 years now, and it performs like a champ! While I do use a back up drive, just in case, I’ve never had trouble with this one. These are smal, lightweight, quiet, don’t heat up, and have the speed and capacity that they are labeled to have. On top of that, they’re usually a good deal on Amazon. I’d definitely buy one again.

I have 3 older DELL computers. I bought the LEXAR 480GB SSD NQ100, to use in an adapter as external storage. I had a problem, that a few other folks have had, but the LEXAR support staff helped me solve it. Here is the problem: SSD shows up in Device Manager, and is working properly. There is a message in Events, about driver not migrating properly because of ambiguous or partial match. Your driver is up to date. The SSD also appears where you eject USB devices. However, the SSD does not appear und My PC, in the list of all available drives. You cannot access the drive. SOLUTION: Get into your Disk Management screen (not Device Manager). Look for a drive that is not initialized, has no drive name, and close to the expected amount of GB on your SSD. (Example, my SSD is a 480GB, but Disk Management listed it as 447GM. It’s a computer math thing.) Right click on that drive, and initialize it. Then, is says unassigned, so click on it and assign type, and a drive letter! Now your drive works great! The LEXAR support agent and I were glad that it worked, but like the agent said, “we should not have had to do that to make it work.” I have a suspicion that the age of my computers may have contributed to the situation. Might just be that the SSD is just a bit too unfamiliar to my 10 year old DELL. Main thing is, it is working perfectly now! Also, if you have had a similar problem, you really can fix it! It is EASY…once you know WHAT the problem is.

Llevo usando esta unidad Lexar por bastante tiempo y puedo decir que no ha fallado ni una sola vez. A diferencia de otros discos que pierden velocidad con el tiempo, este se mantiene igual de rápido que el primer día. Lo utilizo para el sistema operativo y la carga de programas pesados, y la mejora en la fluidez de mi equipo fue inmediata. Si buscas algo confiable para no perder tu información, esta es una compra segura.

Fit in our mini desk top perfectly

I used this drive to replace a failed mechanical hard drive in my kids' Dell computer. It fit perfectly without having to modify anything. Don't worry about having to buy another windows license for if you're just replacing a failed component. Your computer's hardware profile is associated with your copy of windows. A new hard drive won't invalidate it. Prior to installing, I downloaded windows 10 from Microsoft to a thumb drive. I then plugged in the thumb drive and powered up the computer. Windows installed without issue, then recognized the computer as already having a valid Windows license, so I didn't have to re-enter my license key. Once I logged into my Microsoft account, I got all of my OneDrive files back. After that, all that was left to do was re-install a few applications and I was good to go again. No more having to share my computer with the kids.

Installed to replace a broken SATA hard drive in a 2018 Lenovo laptop. Worked like a charm, and computer is much faster now. Price can't be beat.

Was unable to download Recovery tool from Lexar's website. Using it as a boot drive.
