These were recommended by my daughter’s piano teacher. A great way to start or to quickly cover material that’s been skipped over. There is also an app you can get with these books that help with timing and focus. These cover a lot of ground and very versatile. Great depth for learning!

I have used these books for years with my elementary-age beginners. The method is solid, the pacing is good, and the music is engaging. This seller was easy to work with. The books arrived promptly and in good condition.

There are a few methods that most piano teachers seem to use in teaching piano to children. Pretty much: Alfred's Piano Library, Faber's Piano Adventures, Bastian Piano Basic, and let's just throw in John Thompson's Modern Course. All offer music theory and technique with engaging material for kids to follow along. Actually, I learned piano before kindergarten and was taught differently. Now having my own kids extremely interested in piano and music, I wanted some consistent material that aligned with their interest, and Faber is working nicely with introducing a learning style that's appropriate to their skill level. I found Faber to be colorful, filled with illustrations and activities. The song variety covered a bit of everything. A lot more interesting than my classical teachings. Priced $33 at time of order and review, for the Primer set of 4. So $8.25 each, honestly.. Give it a try. I highly recommend this set of books. I am learning to play piano pretty much on my own. I took one lesson just to get me started and have the option to go again on an as needed basis and other than that I am using these books. You can read the review I just posted for the primer level sight reading book by Faber for more information but I think these books are great. I purchased the primer level and level 1 which I will I have heard will take 8-12 months to get to level 1 but that is fine. I live a long way from piano lessons and these books once I had a starting point seem to be getting me along just great in the learning to play piano. I think it best to get the complete set along with the Christmas music and sight reading books. The Christmas book gives you something to boost your confidence as you can hear a song and recognize it and you are playing it, the sight reading is something you can read through at night and this 4 book set offers a base of additional information that I think builds a firmer learning foundation for playing the piano. I have no musical background whatsoever - all I knew was to dust the one I had and I love these books. I had one lesson and have since used only these books - I am 2 weeks into learning and I recognize quite a bit although I am trying to get my brain to make my fingers move a bit quicker but the connection of what fingers to move is not to fast yet! LOL Left hand really throws me but getting better.

Great learning books for piano!!

A piano curriculums set of books I like using in my music studio for younger students. I like the consistent instruction each book provides and guides my students in their learning path.

These are laid out pretty well. Now that I have seen them and helped my daughter practice. I feel like I could have taught her from it and I can’t really play much of piano. It’s builds skills, sequentially and logically in a way that I could teach myself. In fact, I have started teaching my other daughter instead of sending her to lessons, since she wants to ultimately learn another instrument. The series makes a good faith or just kidding and understanding of music. It teaches things like dynamics, half notes, whole notes, etc. it starts out playing hands separately gradually goes to alternating them, and eventually parts overlaid it goes over some technique like posture and how high your seat should be and how you should hold your hands. I’ve noticed noticed my one daughter teaching herself so she can go ahead of me. There’s a reason a lot of Piano teachers use this.

Great book for beginners. Would recommend for budding pianists.

I grabbed the Faber Piano Adventures Primer Level for a beginner, and honestly, it’s been such a great choice. The way this book breaks things down makes learning feel natural—no overwhelming music theory dumps, just simple steps that actually build confidence. The songs are fun (yes, even the super basic ones), and the little bits of music theory sneak in without making it feel like homework. The layout is super clear, and the illustrations give it a nice touch. Definitely makes practice feel less like a chore.
