Painless Lancing Device Blood Lancet Pen Sterile Gold Plated of Third Generation with +50pcs 23G Needles

I've been checking my sugar levels for about 15 years and I've had this for a few weeks now since my last plastic one stopped holding lancets after wearing out. This one has a good metal heft and delivers the lancet with more of a 'thud' than a 'prick' so is less painful. I think it will last a long time before wearing out. Pros: Durable metal heft Less painful than other devices Price point Cons: It's not very intuitive for setting the depth with the knurled screw in the middle and would be good if there were some kind of indicator to let you know you have a consistent setting with the number of threads exposed. It doesn't have a lancet release mechanism so you need to pull it out directly rather than using a release push mechanism like most others.

I bought this and for the first few months it was great. Then one day I was removing a lancet as I always did and it fell apart in my hands. Don't know if this is an inherent problem or not, but it was with mine.

Did not work any better than cheap plastic blood drop drawing devices. Nice Finish Build quality but not painless.

This is the second one i have bought as I lost the tip for previous one. This is an updated design. Easy to adjust with the gnarled turn ring, though i do wish it was tighter as it turns when taking the tip off and back on, but a little tape on it cures that. The lancets the VA supplies me often aren't exactly the same with the pricking point varying in length so the adjuster is perfect due to that. I recommend this for everyone that Cto check their blood. I set mine to just the right setting to make a slight prick and often don't even feel it, and have to check to make sure the blood shows ans is a sufficient drop.

Pen is *ok*. Inconsistent depth... If you push the button harder/faster it goes deeper. Additionally, the shirt clip is sharp and metallic and can cut the threads of your shirt if you're not careful. The lancets it comes with are the worst trash. Don't use them, period. They are thick and dull and EVIL. Buy some butterfly touch lancets or something. Three stars because clipping a lancet pen to your shirt is pretty cool idea but man the product needs some improvement.

My husband checks his blood about 8 times daily, so his lancing device is a very important tool. This lancing device has two great features that are very hard to find. First of all, it has a clip that lets him carry it in his shirt pocket (His glucometer is built into his insulin pump, and its pouch is not big enough to hold a lancing device.) . Second, it has a “one-click” operation; he does not need to cock it first. The depth is adjustable (once you figure out how to do it; see below), and it reliably punctures his skin to deliver a blood drop on the first puncture. It does not seem to work as quickly or retract as fast as his old lancing device did, but that does not seem to make a difference in the blood sample. The device comes with a box of lancets, but it can use other standard lancets. My husband prefers the B&D lancets, which are much thinner. You do not need to have a “Made in China” label to know the origin of this device. Except for the word Lancets on the box of lancets that come with the order, ALL of the instructions and labels are in Chinese. There are some directions on the Amazon product page, but the English there is so bad they might as well also be in a foreign language. We worked out how to load, adjust, and operate the device properly, we think, but it can take some time. In sum, this lancing device seems to do the job and has some features hard to find in other lancing devices, but the communication of how to use it needs significant improvement.

I have been using a drug store Lance for years and years and this one is almost painless. The precision adjustment for the depth is what makes it. After getting it to prick the minimum depth needed to bring the little blood needed I can barely feel it. If you need to check your level often as i need to give it a try. Besides that it looks like a ball point in your pocket.
