Hyperkin GelShell Controller Silicone Skin for HTC Vive Pro/ HTC Vive (Blue) (2-Pack)

This provides some protection for your Vive's controllers. Overall fit and finish are quite nice. Yes, it is thin silicone, but so far, after owning this for about a month, it has protected my Vive controllers of scrapes and scratches from hitting the occasional wall while playing such games as SuperHot VR. Also, I find the texture does help with overall grip. It's not as thick as the Wii remote's silicone case, but it still protects against the common bumps and scrapes. Any thicker, you would screw with the Vive controller's ergonomics since the controllers are pretty bulky to begin with. You really can't go wrong with this product, it serves the purpose of providing some protection as well as improve the overall grip of the controllers without making the ergonomics worse.

These silicone controller protectors for the Vive controllers by Hyperkin do a great job! They protect from all the accidental bumps and would-be scratches and fit the controllers like a glove. Since the cover is made from silicone it helps me grip and hold the controllers much much easier and I think it even helps me press the squeeze grip buttons with more ease as well. The color is nice and true to the pictures as well. I haven't had any problems with these interfering with tracking and would definitely recommend.

This seems to provide a negligible amount of protection, more for protecting against scratches and scuffs than damage from collisions with the floor, furniture, or each other. But, it looks really good and works great. The product could use some instructions for how to install it. It isn't really obvious how to get the oddly-shaped wand into the skin. Fortunately, the silicone is very stretchy and forgiving. Even if you do it wrong, it'll still probably work. I think it works best to slide the boot over the crown of the wand, then stretch the tail down the hand part. Note that the hand strap comes out the back, and not the bottom. If it doesn't seem to lie flat at first, massage it around a bit -- it will eventually fit just like a glove. I don't think this is a product you *need*, and I don't think it actually does much, but I like the color it adds to the Vive, and if I ward off a few scratches, then we're all happy.

Very nice bump protectors, seems these could protect even tougher "crashes" yet its not really to protect the wands, rather the objects that are surrounding them while in play even though I make it sound otherwise further on. After having the HMD protector on to protect it from the wands, I realized that the controllers need this more than HMD. Fits just right. Cutouts are perfect, even for the lanyard. Highly recommended for the discounted price only as I still stand just like with the review for HMD glove, 20 bucks is too much for couple silicone molds. Considering manufacturing costs, it is extremely high. Thus the color match with the hmd is not there, I dont care, I dont see them while playing. The grip is now somewhat softer while side buttons along with the menu button press easier as well, sides to press and menu to feel and press is way improved, its like with those phones that are too hard to press comfortably, with the silicone slip on skins, the buttons are suddenly so easy to press- if you know what I mean, then thats exactly what happens here with the Vive wand gloves which is only great and only for that matter itself, it should be included with Vive itself.

I bought the skins to prevent scratching of the controllers while in contact with other hard surfaces such as table tops and each other while packed for transit. My main concern was to help prevent damage to the surfaces of the infrared sensors. Overall I believe these skins will do a great job of preventing surface damage. I have two cases of related trouble that interfere with tracking that were not present before adding the skins. Occasional symptoms include the following. While in game the virtural controller will get stuck and then fly off in a random direction, delay/lag in motion, jitter in control. First item. The skin decreases the available angle at which the Infrared light can reach the sensors on the controllers from the lighthouses. This is an expected byproduct of adding thickness around the sensors. Second item. The packaging is too small and caused the compressed and folded up skins to acquire some wrinkles. I have included images showing the wrinkles and how it blocks the IR sensors significantly. Minus 1 star for having loose wrinkles that block the sensors. Minus another star to help petition a redesign of thickness and diameter around the sensor holes

Perfect fit. It took me 40 seconds to install each if you do it right. First start by placing the skin on top of your controller. If you do it the other way around you will suffer (I saw comments here from people that did it wrong) then get the strap and pass it through the whole while you accommodate the skin through the handle and then you will end up to the top (the part with the circle) This skin will no protect it when falling on the floor or hitting your wife head while playing (yes it happened) but will do the job for minor scratches, sweat, dirt, (perhaps blood) and feels good. Not sure about the quality long term. I will update my comments in a few months

It is thin but it is very useful at preventing the controllers from being scratched.

Encaja como un guante de seda, no pesa practicamente nada, protege de arañazos y pequeños golpes, color agradable. Recomendado tambien los protectores para las HMD a juego.

elle vont sur les manettes comme un gant la texture est agréable et elles ne glissent pas quand on transpire la mise en place n'a posé aucun soucis, il faut juste comprendre dans quel sens commencer et après ça vient tout seul aucun soucis de perte de signal car elles sont fines et tous les capteurs sont bien visibles et surtout, mes manettes et mes murs leur disent merci :)

These are great. Now I just leave dents in the drywall and not black-streaked dents. They fit snugly and don't slip. They also don't get all nasty greasy like some grip covers. Also good for protecting the controllers from when my 5-year-old decides to smash the controllers into the HMD trying to "eat" something in Job Simulator.

These work well. The texture is grippier than the stock plastic, and they do provide some impact resistance when swinging at the piano. How much impact resistance? I'm not sure, but similar to a soft case for a phone.
