Im a commercial electrician, this is good affordable alternative to Fluke. My coworkers all paid extra for the fluke to get the same readings as this meter. The clamp is better in the fluke, but this meter works perfectly for testing voltage, and toning out. Aside from my full time day job reading high voltages, I've used this working on my trucks 12 volt DC system to adjust a throttle position sensor to a correct value. The DC voltage reading is accurate as well as AC, because I found that my Throttle position sensor was at the wrong value which is why it was shifting late. Adjusted to the correct value using the meter and the truck shifts better now. Very good meter. Good for professionals and more than any DIYer would ever need. Great for an apprentice before you get your expensive fluke in a few years. Still reading accurate months after purchase. Kline can make a meter, and for the price a great meter.

This clamp meter covers the basic needs with an easy to use unit. The lead holder is a great feature so you don't need a third hand or try to find a hanging point. Good unit so far.

This is the 2nd CL600 I’ve owned (1st was stolen). Definitely a solid meter, easy to use and read, good back light. The only minor complaint would be with the leads. They’re not as “good” as say a Fluke but at this price point it’s fine. I find it easier to fit the meter in the case without the leads attached. The case is inexpensive nylon and has very little padding so you have to be somewhat careful and not just throw it in your bag. All in all it’s a good field meter. The CL800 has a few more features which I didn’t necessarily need. This would be a great 1st meter for a newer apprentice.

As an electrician your tools and their quality matter. The functionality of the meter is then other brands I’ve used in the past and it’s pretty durable. The voltage reading are accurate and the screens brightness and pretty good. I recommend buying the magnet attachment so you don’t have to hold it while taking readings

I just repurchased this to replace another (of the same model). The previous one lasted around 5 years of relatively heavy use. I had replaced the leads once during that period. I am an ici electrician doing everything from automation/controls to 600v inside and outside. This has served me well. Keep in mind though, that this is not designed for cold temperatures. This now is my third Klein meter of this caliber over the last 15 years. I beat these things up so for me it is a balance of quality readings vs. disposability. Good enough to do the job but as soon as I lose trust - garbage. I have different meters for different uses. This is my workhorse. I do not like the new style leads they provide with this (90° banana) as the meter is not designed for this application. I would prefer klein revert back to the design I had 2 meters ago which used 90° leads with a frontside connection to the meter. I have found that the connections to the meter have needed a break in period over the last week. Now they seem good. I wasn't getting solid tone. Now I do.
