One Last Stop was also a page-turner. I loved the magical realism which I did not expect. The characters were fun and interesting too, even the secondary characters. They seemed to jump to life out of the pages. Also, I love public transport. Hurray! I ended up getting this book as a gift for my friend later, and she fell in love with it too. Review: Heartwarming read! - 🌈 Read a queer book after a long time and it was completely worth it! Picked this one as part of my Pride Month reading in June and I’m really glad I did. 💖 It’s a total slow burn❤️🔥but kept me hooked from beginning to end. Set in New York , it’s a love story like no other, Jane gets stuck in a time loop, lost in time and trapped in the subway. August, with the help of her amazing friends, does everything she can to bring her back.❤️ The time travel concept made it stand out from the usual romance stories. ✨ Jane - bold, fearless, and full of life. ✨ August - soft, kind, and determined to help her. All the side characters were written so well and brought a lot of warmth to the story. The author’s writing had so much detail - even the quiet moments were done beautifully. ✨ I’ve read Red, White & Royal Blue by the same author and absolutely loved it and this one didn’t disappoint either. Such a different vibe, but just as heartfelt.💫📖 It felt emotional, a little magical, and honestly, really adorable - a heartwarming read that’s going to stay with me.

It was a little disappointing.
I really liked Casey McQuiston's Red, White and Royal Blue, so I had high expectations for this one. One Last Stop follows August, a 23 year old who has just moved to New York City with no hopes of making friends or falling in love. She meets and falls in love with Jane, a girl from 1970s who is mysteriously stuck on the subway in the 21st century. August, along with her roommates, try to figure out how to send Jane back to her time. A few thing I liked: The diversity. The side characters were very well written and I found their backstories genuinely interesting. The interaction and friendship between the characters were some of the best parts of the book. The writing was pretty good. The author did a good job of capturing August's emotions, her loneliness and social anxiety. I could relate to a lot of her thoughts and feelings. Things I didn't like: The most important thing in a romance is the chemistry between the main couple and sadly, for me, that was the weakest part of the book. I am not a fan of insta-love and I am not even sure I should call this insta-love, it was more like insta-lust. I never felt any meaningful connection between August and Jane. As good as the writing was, it was also a bit repetitive. The pacing was also a little off. There were whole sections of the book where literally nothing happens except the characters planning parties or going to parties. It got old pretty quick. The time travelling part also really didn't work for me, the explanation for it was pretty flimsy and the way August and Jane's lives interconnected felt a little too convenient. I would still call this book good, some parts I did actually enjoy, it just wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Curse my expectations!

Hey Coffee Girl!!! Hey Subway Girl!!!
The story follows two girls, the first is August, a cynical 23 year old, who has recently shifted to New York, to complete her graduation, works in a 24 hour Pancake Diner, has moved into an apartment with way too many quirky roommates & neighbours and strongly believes that the best way through life is to spend it alone. . . Enter Jane, an amazing charming, leather jacket clad Subway stranger who comes to August's rescue, when she needs it the most. And the best part is that she is not just an old school punk enthusiast, she is actually an old school punk!!! Yes she has been displaced in time from the 1970s and has been on that specific Subway track jumping in and out of existence/time somehow, and has ended up finding August. (Squeals 🤭🤭). . . The story evolves around, how both of them somehow fall for each other, in spite of Jane's inability to leave the Subway tracks ever & how August turns things around in her life to include Jane in it. . . There are some really wholesome electric love moments, plus like a full circle moment around the end of the book. And some really interesting/electrifying parties that I would have loved to be a part of...(Jealous!!)

This book was everything. I mean not only does it have the cutest sapphic romance but it also has the best trope ever aka found family full of queer 20-something people. I love Jane and August so much. I love everyone from apartment 6F so much. I love everything about this book so much. I smiled and laughed so much, and I also cried at times. I half listened to the audiobook and half read the paperback and I love how the audiobook gave so much life to all the characters.

I have read this book in two days flat. Would've been one day, but i had stuff to do. It is amazing. I bought this on preorder right after I finished Red, White and Royal Blue because I loved that book and I wasn't disappointed with this one in the least. It has a more complicated story line, and it doesn't make sense some time, but it is enjoyable and funny and the characters are amazing. You have to suspend your disbelief at certain turns when the book combines Astrology, Time travel and Just a hint of supernatural energy, but you will most definitely have at least one character in this book you identify with and who you can steal certain traits from. ( I don't judge, i do it too. ) The LGBTQ+ aspect in this book is was more pronounced and "important" than the last one, you have characters from every walk of life. From a plus sized bisexual detective to a trans male psychic to a black drag queen to a shy nerdy emotionally repressed gay, they all get treated with a loving hand and kind words and the utmost care. I would definitely recommend reading this and I can't wait for her next book.
