Works perfectly and SUPER comfortable!
Highly recommend for people of all genders! Fit: I'm 5'7" and 140lb, I usually wear a size M in bottoms. I have the size Medium in these and it fits very comfortably. They are NOT tight on the waist, hips, thighs, or anywhere. I think if I got a Small, they would have been more snug but still not tight. Look: They look like normal black mid-rise or high-rise short spandex shorts. They cover my entire bottom, and there is zero cheek poking out. If you are trans, butch, or gender nonconforming, you could wear these as trunks during your menses, but they're not long enough to be boxer briefs. I just wear them as I would wear black spandex short shorts. Cut/Design: The inner layer has a seam simulating where the leg holes of normal panties would be. This results in an amazing fit and it's my favorite part of these shorts. It's genius. The gusset is the perfect width and everything just sits right. The fit of period panties is important for ensuring no leaks, and these fit great. There are no uncomfortable seams or weird unflattering butt seam like I've heard about some other brands' period panties. Material: Stretchy and comfortable. Like I said, they are not tight in any area of the shorts at all. This is really important to me. Absorbency: They work just as well as brand-name period panties that advertise the same level of absorbency. I use them alone on my 3rd day, where I have medium-light flow, and it takes it like a champ. No leaks at all. (I want to experiment using them on my heaviest day and push them to the breaking point to see when they'll leak, but I just haven't gotten the chance to yet. I'll definitely edit the review if I do, because it sounds like a valuable experiment.) Miscellaneous: Not smelly. Doesn't feel wet when wearing. I'll notice a clot once in a while-- give it a wipe and you're good to go. Doesn't feel like a diaper. Note: I heard about Goat Union from some reviews on Reddit, and decided to give it a try. I do own other, more expensive brands of period panties already (because I literally cry every time I wear a pad because of the discomfort). This is my first time buying period panties from Amazon. I really like these and I want to buy the Goat Union high waisted once my size is available but they haven't had my size in like a really long time lol.

LIFE CHANGING!
I have been desperate to find period wear that is made especially for those of us with heavy periods so when I saw I could purchase actual shorts to wear, I immediately purchased them & am so glad that I did. First off, the material. It is so soft!!!! I was expecting rough cotton or overly thin material but these shorts are buttery soft and don't feel constrictive at all. They fit pretty true to size (I got a small & wear a 2-4) and didn't feel like I was wearing period panties at all! They're so comfortable and look good too. You can feel the thick padding to absorb fluid, but it does not make any kind of sound like you've heard with other menstrual wear. I have bought other pairs of panties before where you can hear the material when you walk so not having to announce to my household. I'm on my period is wonderful On to the most important part: absorbency. I have incredibly heavy, painful periods & will often leak through super plus & ultra tampons within 10 minutes of insertion so you can understand why I would be skeptical finding something that actually works without any leaking. I am thrilled to say these shorts passed the test! I wore them for the 8 hours I was asleep and had zero leaks. I initially started to do my usual panicked run to the restroom to change but it was necessary. THESE HELD TRUE TO THEIR WORD! I was shocked and so happy! If you're on the fence about investing in these, just go for it! I will be ordering more of them and telling everybody I know that struggles with every periods that we finally have an answer for comfortable period panties that don't look like bulky diapers and actually live up to the leak free hype.

Worth the Money
Good quality. Fit well. Where other period underwear has failed me with leaks on the sides, this kept me dry through the worst of my period. Plus, they are super soft and comfy to wear.

Love these!
So I've tried A LOT of period underwear. She thinx, thinx for all, modibodi, goat union, and the period company to be exact. I absolutely love these and the goat union high waist briefs! Here are my thoughts. My period is 8-9 days and mostly light to moderate bleeding with one or two heavy days. These are my favorite for sleeping, especially on the heavy days. I had no leaks and felt very secure. I love that goat union has the extended padding in the front area. Most period underwear don't have this feature and as a stomach sleeper, it's the best design for me for sleep. The padding in the gusset to me actually feels very thin for the amount of absorbency compared to other period underwear with the same absorbency. The fabric is so soft and double layered/thicker than some other underwear, which again makes me feel it can handle leaks better and will hopefully last. The stitching seems quality to me and there are no strings or areas with stitch defects. The fit was on point for me. I am between a medium and large and usually go for large as I do not like any clothing cutting into me in any way. I ordered large and the fit is perfect. Not too snug, but also not loose. The legs don't roll up or cut into me either. My first impression was just that these are such good quality and so comfortable. And it works! I also prefer to support small, women owned business. And they test the fabric thoroughly for toxins which makes me feel safer. There are some minor cons. These shorts took over 48 to air dry and I turned them inside out half way through. These are definitely not shorts you would want to travel with if or if youre just trying to buy a couple pairs to rotate. If you hang these with clothespins, the fabric does tend to stretch more where the clothespin is placed. So I use a lot of clothespins so the weight is more distributed or throw them over the shower rod. I also felt that the gusset in these felt wetter than some other period underwear brands, especially on heavy days. I dont mind the free bleed feeling, but if you are mostly a tampon or mentrual cup user, it might be uncomfortable for you. I also don't recommend them for anything other than sleeping or lounging. If you do anything that makes you sweat, the padding that goes all the way front to back absorbs the sweat and sticks to my somach and back and I didn't like that. So I reserve these for sleeping. I would really like to see this company expand in the future to some more day friendly designs!

Fabulous, just fabulous?.. life-changing
You’re gonna hear me pour on the honey because these are the best things to come along since those disposable pull-ups. I must address my hatred for the pull-ups. Those little ruffles are unnecessary and leave you unable to wear certain clothes. The pad is too narrow and breaks apart and smells and smells and doesn’t absorbs I think it actually Directs down the legs. And then the panty part is so itchy and hives. The worst thing is the price. I can’t afford it and it’s sad when you have to buy something that you hate. I thought about it and I said why can’t I go and wear cloth diapers , so I started my trip down close diaper lane. I found the diapers which I am in love with never leak. And I have found these pants which wear like regular panties and are so comfortable and have a very wide crotch cover the size of a diaper and they also go down your leg a bit , I can’t say enough about them. This is the way to go. The combination I have put together is perfect. I don’t even know I have a diaper on. I have no itching. I have no smell. No it’s just comfortable and a plus it sucks like sweat. I could go on, but I think you get the message. Don’t buy anything else but these I had to return another brand but I’ve been blessed to find this. It’s actually made of change in my life. I’m not as worried about actually a leak for me it’s a pour.

Finally, something that actually lasts overnight!
These sleep shorts are AMAZING. They fit about as expected; a little snug at the waist on me, due to being between sizes, but probably true to size on others. They are incredibly comfy, soft and cool even in the dead of summer, and will wick both sweat and blood away from your skin while you sleep. The absorbent gusset is very generous, running from the waistband in the front to the waistband in the back, and wide enough that you don't need to worry about it slipping out of place. I put mine on around 7:00 pm the first night I wore them and they stayed in place and dry to the touch until I woke up the next morning, which was at least 12 hours. They were starting to get a noticeable tacky spot inside at that point, but nothing showed through and I think for the average night's sleep they're more than up to the job even for a heavy period. I rinsed mine in the shower in the morning and then threw them in the wash with my other delicates and hung to dry. Like most absorbent panties, they take a long time to air dry, even with a fan pointed at them, so if you want to wear them every night, you'll need multiple pairs, but even fully-saturated, they don't feel heavy and diaper-like the way Thinx panties do. All in all, I'd love to see more cuts and sizes from this brand, because they clearly know what they're doing.

Good for nighttime use
I can't use tampons/cups/discs for medical reasons and have been struggling to find good nighttime options for awhile. Everything I tried was either uncomfortable/no stretch or not enough coverage. These are my favorites so far. Pros: -My periods get pretty heavy and I've used these through the whole night with no issues -It provides coverage on the back too! So many period underwear only cover in crotch which I don't like for nighttime use -They are comfy/stretchy-Even when I'm super bloated, these are comfortable to wear. I was between sizes and went a size up and I'm glad I did for better comfort. The material has a good stretch and doesn't dig into your skin -They are actual boy shorts and come down a little bit on your legs so I don't worry about underwear sliding/leaking at nights Cons: -Like all period underwear, it's hard to tell when your underwear is "full". Since I use for night time only, I just change first thing in the morning and I've never had any issues. -I was originally thinking I would use pads as back up but winged pads would not work with this underwear pads without wings would). I actually found I didn't need a back up though -They do take awhile to line dry. For me I think it's worth it, because they clearly hold liquid very well but if you are planning to wash and reuse the next day then it may not work out for you -Not ideal for day use. If you are looking for underwear for daytime, I wouldn't recommend just because they are thicker -You do get a little bit of that "wet" feeling when they're really "full". Personally I find it more comfortable then pads so I'm willing to put up with it I already bought a second pair and will most likely end up buying more eventually. The price is good for period underwear. If you are looking for something for nighttime use, I would recommend

Size way up (no, more)
I tried three brands, all of which required sizing up -- why? I normally wear an xxl/1x (18-20), but based on all the frustrated (and some detailed) reviews ordered these shorts from Goat Union in 4x (!), overnight shorts from The Period Company in 3x, and the Thinx High Waist Heavy Absorbancy Underwear in 2x. Those sizes were correct(ish) fits in those brands for a body that is normally a 1x. Again... why? I didn't love any but kept the Goat Union shorts as the least worst compromise for overnight protection as they fit comfortably (three sizes up from my norm) and weren't as hot/insulated seeming as The Period Company's shorts -- those might work for winter, but even then seem like overkill. If you're planning an expedition to the Himalayas, those are your sleep shorts. For reference, the Thinx were generally uncomfortable with a waistband that rolled, wedgy butt coverage and pantyhose texture sides. The Goat Union shorts were comfortable if sized ridiculously up, didn't seem as over-insulated and will hopefully protect my sheets. I don't love supporting a company that seems to have no clue how to size their products, but again, they were the least worst otherwise. All of these are a good idea executed sub-optimally. You have ONE JOB: comfortable, leak-proof underwear that fit without a crap-ton of guess work. If these leak, you better believe I'll be back with that update.
