Invigorating and vegan-friendly
First of all: cruelty-free, vegan-friendly and free of SLS, parabens, GMOs and some of the other chemicals we don't like to slather anywhere on our body. Instead, the ingredient list is user-friendly, featuring aloe vera, apple extract, elderberry, and peppermint in addition to the eponymous tea tree oil. I was not familiar with Organic Doctor so I did a small amount of research and learned that they have a lot of fans in the UK. It's an English brand whose products gradually seem to be washing up on US shores. Now that I know about the line, I am going to be trying more of their products. So...the big question about anything containing tea tree oil: does it smell? I have used straight tea tree oil for medicinal purposes, and the scent of this shampoo is mild and pleasant in comparison. However, if you want your shampoo to smell like butterflies and baby kittens, you are not going to be happy with this product. If you care more about clean shiny hair, and don't mind a shampoo with built-in massage qualities thanks to the tea tree and peppermint, this is worth a place on your shower floor. (My own shower floor tends to become over-crowded, so I'm careful about what gets to stay there.) Note that many of the reviews on this page refer to tea tree skin lotion. Not the shampoo. I may try the lotion at some point, but not for my hair.

Definitely buy it
I love the smell and the quality of this shampoo. I have experimented with 8 different shampoos this year and this one sticks out out of all 8 and I love the fact that the main ingredient is actually a natural ingredient.

pleasant but manly scent
Reminds me of Aveda, this shampoo has a tingling sensation that feels great. Whatever you do, don't get it in your eyes, however. The tea tree scent is fine, not too strong. But medicinal. After using it, it was difficult to decide what conditioner to use that would compliment it. I'm used to shampoos and conditioners to be in pairs all matchy matchy. This is something I'd use weekly rather than daily. And I think it would suit a man better by the scent and their shorter hair. I worry a bit about it stripping my hair (color treated), but then again, I swim in chlorinated pools. So there's that.
