LEGO Creator Expert 10244 Fairground Mixer

This set is fabulous. It does take a while to build, and one must be very careful when building the gears and such, but once it is complete - well wow! My grandson is a lego-officiendo, and it was hard to find a set that would surprise and delight him. This was it! The set has lots of great minifigures (including kids, which is great) to boot. Everything fits into two compact trucks, so it looks really cool when stored. I like it that when the set is stored,, there are no dangling parts like in many other sets. My grandson has lots of fun bringing the trucks out and setting up the fairground, and I have fun putting them all away cause everything fits together in such a cool way. Super awesome set! A caveat: this set would have been far too complicated for a 7 year old to build, so unless your little one is very very precocious, expect to spend at least two good nights building with legos!

This set is worth every penny. My seven year old was able to build it, but she has been building Legos since she could walk. I think the 16+ age recommendation is overstated. The set was so well designed and you can see that there was considerable time spent in designing it. There are many points of reinforcement for moving parts so it does not come apart. It all packs up nicely on two trailers. This is by far the coolest Lego set I've seen and your child get hours of enjoyment building and playing with it. Everything works well and was carefully though out. Then, parents will be happy because the almost 1800 pieces packs up so neatly and drives into storage.

My son loves it! It was the first present he used after all his birthday presents were opened. He had it together in short order and was very happy with the finished product. He does somewhat wish he had opted for the one with the motor drive but that can always be added later. Lego definitely makes the best building brick sets out there and we pay for it. We have tried other brands but nobody makes one that fits together better. I sure wish another company out there did so we may have a less expensive option out there. Until that time though, it's Lego for us.

I have gotten the Lego building bug at the age of 53. The only real grip I have is the stickers, for I can't stand putting stickers on the parts. I always seem to get them crooked. I have been noticed people complaining about parts missing in their reviews. I have a tip that might help out anyone in the future buying a Lego Creative Set and that is when you open the bags of parts don't throw the empty bags out, but put the empty bags in the box that the set came in. I know this has saved my bacon not just once, but twice now on two separate builds. I thought I was missing some parts on two separate builds (Ferris Wheel and Fairground Mixer), but when I went through the empty bags the missing part was clinging inside the not so empty bag.

While I'm always hesitant to purchase any Lego set, as the prices are high and they provide my son with only several hours of entertainment since he prefers to build them once and is done, I ended up buying this set since it was the only thing listed on his birthday list. This ended up being a great set and for the year time ever my son has actually played with it many times since the initial build. Of course, this being Lego, the quality is great. Such a fun addition to our collections!

One whole bag missing! Started building with son. As we started to build bag 2, noticed a few large pieces missing. Then realized all the pieces from a "bag 2" were missing. Hoping this company will make this right. I'm thinking this must have been a used item that was previously returned.

An awesome Lego creator set. With 1700+ pieces, 12 mini figures ranging from kids to adults, its a delight to see the full set come to life. The fairground mixer ride, ticket booth, high-striker and dunk tank accommodates itself into two trucks/trailers just like in the real world to move from one town to another. The crank on the fairground mixer can be motorized with a medium motor and a battery box. Some pieces are unique esp. the ones that glow in the dark. The play experience on this set is extremely high. I'd say the level of difficulty to build this set is moderately difficult (age group mentioned is 16+/expert). Overall an outstanding experience

A great Lego set, the main ride has great functionality and there's lots of extra details. It's quite a complex build (but does have a very clear instructions booklet and organised, numbered bags) which is enjoyable for some including me. One of the best things is the way everything folds away onto two lorries which is not only realistic but great for storage.

Very well designed and high quality pieces. It operates very smoothly with the crank. We also got the power functions motor and that works very well too. It took my son (age 12) quite a while to get it put together but he really enjoyed doing it. The end product is very close to the real thing at your 'local' seasonal fair!! Definitely worth the money

One if the best lego sets. When I first saw this I was like no way it's a good set. But upon closer look . The trucks are so cool. They look European and sit low and carry everything in a carnival on the beds. Just awesome. Best Lego transport trucks ever !!
