Behringer PRO-1 Analog Synthesizer with Dual VCOs, 3 Simultaneous Waveforms, 4-Pole VCF, Extensive Modulation Matrix, 16-Voice Poly Chain and Eurorack Format

Gob smacked and amazed. Some people may be wondering why a growing number of musicians, synth dabbler fans and enthusiasts are gowing wild over the new range of analogue synthesizers popping up by the superb Behringer company. Why bother with a real synth when you can just use a virtual synth??? Well I for one have Arturia V synths and I love them, there amazing they give you the ability to have some VERY expensive synths for peanuts and it's a wonderful collection. However when you wish to use multiple synths together your going to find that while you can multi-track and use a different synth for each track but what if you want to play the synths simultaneously or together or play a rythm part on one synth while you play a solo with another at the same time. Well your going to find that there's 2 major obstacles and that is that typically it would mean having multiple midi keyboards and running 2 or more synths at once. This will bog down your system in no time and you may experience conflicts etc, sure you get jet get a couple more computers and solve the problem that way but then hey your going to be paying A LOT more than what these amazing Behringer clones cost. The other main obstacle is the ability to adjust your synth on the fly. It's just not as simple with a software synth and best of all your not chewing up resources on your computer. It's always better to have the real deal to a virtual setup and YES the big factor it sounds better. Best of all you can now have some terrific analogue synthesizers in a collection that will not take up an entire room to bring together but simply a stack rack. Not only that but you can daisy chain the synths and turn them on and off via volume etc or combine them all with a single keyboard. (Maybe it's possible to do this with software but seriously isn't it best to leave the computer to the recording and the music to dedicated music machines? Oh and just to emphasize that better sound aspect is worth it. I'd wanted to make the sounds of this synth for years and thanks to Arturia and Behringer I can now achieve that without spending mega bucks to do it. Don't get me wrong the actual Prophet synth is a wonderful synthesizer but there not cheap. These allow the curious to have a dabble and enjoy without breaking the bank and that's a wonderful thing for creativity. So enough of this, if your reading reviews, you obviously know what it is and want one, at this price point I don't know why you would consider to continue reading this instead of just buying one and enjoying. I'm off to enjoy playing mine with a Tangerine Dream album or 2, Sean.
