Simran AC-100 Voltage Power Converter Step up Down Transformer 110 Volt 220 Volt, 100 Watt, Black

It's a pretty straight forward Voltage Transformer.I'm grateful as it allowed me to use this power amp that only took 220v. The size and weight is great too. Overall let's see this test through timeEDIT: This product still works as described but be aware, every time I would attempt to turn off this product, I would feel current going through and would get an electric shock. I would also get shocked when I would touch other electric devices due to my application for it.

The converter itself works perfectly fine. However, I don't like two things about it:- It isn't possible to use Schuko plugs with proper grounding. This might not be as bad as it sounds, since the converter essentially is a Isolation Transformer and (depending on how its wired up, didn't perform any measurements) no current should flow towards ground. Having a properly grounded socket would have been nice though.- Upon unpacking, the converter smells very strongly after varnish. Needs to be exposed to some fresh air for a while before it can be used insides.These are my only concerns with the adapter. Apart from that, the adapter does not hum, gets barely warm and it is perfectly fine for use with electronic devices which do not require a ground connection.

Arrived overnight. Works perfectly, does not heat or smell nor missing any screws as provided in previous comments. Arrived with additional 2 fuses and free European plug. This is a keeper since I have just returned a previous brand for having a loose plug.

Very handy item, lets me use any of my UK bits of tech hardware (gaming systems etc) without hassle. A reasonably small unit, so it can be tucked away from view. It has worked well for the last few months, hope to get many years use out of this thing.

Great for all kind of small 100w max appliances. Easy to use and feel sturdy.
