Sheaffer Pop Blue Fountain Pen - Medium

This is the first Sheaffer product that has failed for me. I still have an old fountain pen which I bought in the 70s, writing beautifully.Sadly this black one is made in China; and maybe herein lies the problem. So much that I have returned was made with cheap labour; and until we start realising that we deserve better, poor quality manufacturing will continue.It is up to all of us to say No; to raise our standards and to expect better made, more reliable products. Then and only then, will manufacturers consider relocating production plants.Anyway and as an addendum to my review below, Amazon has agreed to a return and a full refund. Thank you Amazon. 🌹👍The pen was purchased in March this year and wrote beautifully until the barrel started slipping causing the nib to withdraw, rendering it useless as a writing implement. Typically it broke just after the return period closed!

I chose this for my daughter recently started in year 7 as a cartridge pen is required by the school. She started with an old Parker pen that my mother had but wasn't using. That proved problematic as the ink kept drying up whilst she was using it. We had to find a replacement in a hurry so scoured through the reviews on Amazon and chose this Sheaffer . Great choice of contemporary colours - she opted for the lilac and a bargain price. It arrived quickly and I am so impressed with the quality - it writes really smoothly. Once you look at the instructions as to how to insert the cartridge, that is incredibly easy with no risk of mess . Much better that my school experience of fountain pens ! I would definitely recommend and easy to obtain replacement cartridges.

Disappointed that the pen unscrews itself as I write with it.

Love the colour. It’s a bit scratchy when writing but that is because I like a thicker nib when writing. I shall hopefully find a refill to fit that is thicker. Good buy

If you are new to fountain pens this is ideal. The ink flow is perfect as so is the pen weight and size. I fully recommend it.
