I had my thyroid removed and the hospital discharge paper's said to apply Bacitraycin or Vaseline to the surgery area. I ordered this Bacitraycin ointment and applied it to my surgery area in the morning and evening. When I went for my follow up with the surgeon 9 days later he said my surgery area was looking great and asked me what I was using. I told him and he said that keeping the surgery area moist would help the scar heal faster and to keep on using it. Six weeks later and my scar is almost unnoticeable. This ointment is kinda of like Vaseline but thicker, its really easy to apply. It is not sticky and did not stain my shirts.
