Great decoration--and a real weapon, too!
I like this dagger! It's high quality, though not the best in the world, the dagger is good. Get your saltshaker out because my level of expertise with swords is minimal. One of my tests is striking the blade with something solid and listening for a ring--and this blade rings! it's sharp, well-made, and a real weapon. By today's standards it's a short sword--the sturdy scabbard isn't medieval, the handle is plastic, but it's the right size and weight for a medieval dagger. The balance point is just behind the cross guard, making it blade-light for a period dagger (most were blade-heavy) -- great for a modern fencer, though. I weighed it at 21.5 ounces and measured the blade is about 11.5 inches long, with overall length of 18 inches. The blade is almost an inch and a half wide and there's a fuller that extends almost to the tip. It appears to have a full length tang. The handle is a generous 5.5 inches--if the math doesn't add up, the cross guard is generous, too. This dagger would also serve well as a Civil War Arkansas Toothpick!

This Thing is Legit
I had pretty high expectations having read the reviews and seen pictures people had posted on here, but this blade actually surpassed them. It is well balanced, light weight yet very durable, comes quite sharp, is very comfortable in the hand, and is oiled. I would say my only issue would be the sheath style, not its function. The fastening system is done with the clasping button system located on the belt loop. I would much prefer to have the blade be tightened within the sheath by a rim clip or rim wedge, which is how their sword version is done. The button clip is totally fine for many fixed blades, however this blade is too large for that style in my opinion. Overall, extremely happy with this blade and will definitely be ordering the full sword.

Beautiful Dagger.
This is an awesome dagger. This is the first Honshu product I have bought and it was definitely worth the purchase. It is durable, well-built, and relatively sharp. This dagger is great for any Medieval/knife enthusiast.

Be aware of the units dimensions.
It's an odd size - just a shade too short for a sword... just a shade too long for a knife. I like it, my unit is flawless. Honshu, if you read this, offer this with an 18-inch blade, and I'll buy two.

Dagger - good as a prop, but too cheap for me.
It’s a nice prop, but doesn’t hold up to impact. The dagger is advertised as being tough, but it’s clearly not. Maybe I wouldn’t be writing this if it hadn’t broken. But it did. It looks like the screw piece is welded into the tang and it was not done properly. The screw piece broke off when the handle hit a piece of wood. The impact wasn’t that hard. I mean, it is less than $100 for the dagger, but it is not as tough as it is implied to be. I’m sad to say that I am disappointed. The blade is lighter than I expected, which I am actually happy with. It seems like it held up well when I stabbed it into wood. So that’s good. The pommel and cross guard are held to the plastic handle with only a few drops of epoxy, and when the screw broke, the whole thing fell apart. It’s worth mentioning that the scabbard that came with it seems very nice. Too bad the dagger isn’t.
