Bought this as a gift for a friend who was getting into matcha, and I bought myself another similar one where the matcha bowl has a pour spout. I love how complete the kit it - I bought them about a year ago and I still use mine. My friend loved the pattern of this one and she also appreciated the quality and value of this item. Comparing it with the items I use, since my kit was from the same vendor, it's very durable. My sifter and scoop are still in good shape, as well as the bamboo whisk, although I know I need to get a new whisk soon. The bowl in the perfect depth and shape for mixing without any spills.

Very nice set. Many to choose from. I was very happy with the quality, and the price. Very attractive too. Not much else to tell, other than there are many to look at, and it is your choice of what you want, in look, price, items in the set, it is all up to you. Happy with this purchase. I use Match.com for my matcha grown in Japan.

First, before I give my take, let me say... get a good quality Matcha (try matcha.com). If it's cheap, expect to get, and taste, what you paid for. I bought an organic ceremonial grade matcha that is so nice. I really like this set and recommend it for 1st time matcha users, such as myself. Everything is here that you need. I was going to give it 4 stars because the chasen is not a great quality and some of the tines are already broken off at the end after just a few weeks of use. It will get me by for now, but I will invest in a better one. Other than that, it's all good including the fine mesh strainer, however you don't need a strainer for matcha. Just put a tsp (2 scoops using the included stick) in the bowl and add 1TBS ROOM TEMP water (not cold or hot!). Stir gently for 30 sec to a minute with the chasen and the matcha will be glossy with no lumps. Then add 3TBS of boiled water and mix using the customary chasen technique for a fine froth. Plenty of YouTube videos to teach this process. Enjoy the ritual, the taste and the calm. Also be sure to try lattes with warm oat milk and get a manual frother if you want to add it as a milky foam (no need for electric). Another fun option, if you have it, is to add 2 tsp of lavender simple syrup to about 1/2c whole milk for a yummy foam topping to an iced matcha latte (add 3/4c cold oat milk to the tea, then the foam).

This was a perfect starter set for those looking to get into a matcha making ritual at home. It has everything you need, and it feels like quality items at a great price.

I love this set. I saw some reviews mentioning that the glaze cracks but I never drink hot matcha so I don't use hot water to make my matcha shot so I won't have that issue with mine. If you only intend to drink it iced, this kit might work for you. I feel it's very nice quality. I got the gorgeous blue set and I'm very happy with it.
