Pete the Cat has become a huge part of our family routine, and this 12-Book Phonics Fun! set has been an absolute treasure for my 2 1/2-year-old daughter. She loves Pete the Cat so much that we’ve started watching the cartoon together on Amazon Prime, and she even gets a Pete the Cat sticker every morning before school. It’s become such an important routine for her that skipping it would lead to a meltdown! These books are the perfect size for little hands, and they’re so easy to read. The stories are simple but engaging, with a phonics-based structure that makes them great for helping young children learn to read. Even at her age, my daughter knows the stories so well that she can tell me what’s happening on each page. She doesn’t always get the words exactly right, but her enthusiasm and understanding are incredible to watch. What I really love about Pete the Cat is how wholesome and positive the character is. His stories teach important lessons about sharing, kindness, and being a good friend—all in a way that’s fun and easy for kids to understand. Pairing these books with the cartoon really brings the stories to life and helps kids connect with Pete’s cool-cat personality. For me, these books also hold a special place in my heart. My mom, who was a kindergarten and pre-K teacher before she retired, instilled a love of reading in me and always emphasized how important it is for children’s development. She passed away earlier this year, and when I saw these books on Amazon, my daughter immediately called them “Mimi books” (what she called my mom). I had to buy them. Seeing how much joy they bring to my daughter reminds me of my mom’s love for teaching and reading. This set is a fantastic value—12 books for such a great price! The stories are short, so we can read several at a time without feeling overwhelmed. My daughter loves bringing them to me, then to her mom, and sometimes even to her Pop to read. I had bought a couple of other phonic books for our kindergarten and didn't like how the book was presented. Pete the cat books are very early reader friendly and not blan. Keeps the readers attention. For early reader we like how they do not incorporate harder words in this early stage so the child doesn't feel defeated. The size of the books are perfect for little hands. Our son loves the little books and this is right as his level that he really enjoys and loves to read because he can actually read them. After reading a couple of books it's a win for him. We are looking forward to moving up to his next stage in reading.

Great for beginner readers

My son loves this series and the stories. Great read, simple text and graphics per page and makes it easy for toddlers to know what the story is about before hearing/reading the words.

Great books but smaller than other Pete the Cat books. Make sure you check the size before purchasing.

My 5 yr old granddaughter has learned to read quite well. She loves to read these fun books over and over.

Fantastic way for my soon to be 4 year old to start learning sight words and other easy words. Since each book has the focus words at the beginning of the book, he sees them and we talk about them, and then he gets to see them in sentences right away. Within about 6 weeks of reading one or two of these books a couple times a week, he can tell me about a handful of sight words and he is proud of himself when he can recognize them out in the "wild"

These books are so cute. I did expect them to be longer, they were shorter Pete the cat but they are still great.
