Works great for my water softener
Works great for my water softener. I purchased a used softener off the local classified ads, but it didn't come with the transformer. The softener is working great now with the transformer. I may have been able to find a cheaper generic version if I knew the voltages and plug size, but this took all the guesswork out. Now I have one that I know will work.

Hit or miss with this item.
The box the item was in was completely destroyed and was thrown inside of the mailing envelope. However, the plug was the correct one and worked perfectly, so I’m good with it. This was the 3rd power cord I ordered, with the first 2 not working. Just glad this experience is over with and I can put it in the past.

Just what the water softener ordered
We had noticed that our shower water didn’t seem as soft and when I was checking something else in the utility room, I noticed that the front panel off the softener wasn’t on. Taking off the cover, it was fairly easy to figure out how the power supply connected to the controls. It was an unusual transformer in that the output was AC instead of DC, but my voltmeter could do AC and it was easy to see that the transformer was dead (voltage output 0V AC). Searching on the part number, I came across several threads describing how my part was not designed to last, and that this new transformer was much better (high wattage rating, so doesn’t have to work as hard to supply the softener). Something else could also have been wrong, but it wasn’t expensive to just buy this (I could see that the plug also matched). Installing it was easy and bam, softener is back in business. I downloaded the controller manual and we were operational in a few minutes after that. This is a nice cheap way to hopefully get another 10+ years out of the softener.
