Inline Water Filter Kit for Ice Makers with 1/4" Tubing and a T-Connector

Works fantastic for my ice maker on my fridge. Make sure you run water though it first till it runs clear . It will run black from the charcoal. Then it’s super clean and crisp.. great value for your money ice taste great no leakage super easy to install and quite small

So easy to install! I moved into a new apartment and the refrigerator model that came with the apartment didn’t have an internal filter for the water/ice dispenser. The fridge was already connected to the water line, so I needed an add a filter between the water line behind the fridge, and the connection to the actual fridge. I’m not handy at all, and was ready to pay a handy man to do this, but read the reviews here and it seemed simple enough. I was quite surprised that all I needed to do was cut the existing line and push each end of the line into the filter. That’s it! Didn’t need any of the connections or tubes that came with it. Water taste is much better (no chlorine smell/taste anymore!).

I bought this four months ago and finally found time to install it today. I read all of the directions ahead of time and followed each step, including purging almost five gallons through the filter. Everything went fine until it came time to connect my refrigerator water line to the filter. I found my fridge ice maker water line had a female connector on the end. The filter kit comes with only female adapters. I had to go out and buy a ¼" male/male compression coupler in order to connect the two female ends together. Since the coupler is meant for copper tubing, it took quite a bit of tightening to get the tube end to stop leaking. I think the kit should come with at least one male adapter to connect to refrigerators that have a water line with a female end.

I have a small kitchen and recently purchased a new refrigerator to replace my old one that died. I wanted a refrigerator with an ice maker. The ones with the ice and water dispenser in the door were too wide. The narrower ones that would fit had ice makers inside the freezer bin, but no water dispenser. Surprisingly, those models also didn't have a water filter. There was already a water supply for the refrigerator, so I just needed to install the filter between the supply and the refrigerator. They were 1/4" fittings. Most of the external filters were made for kitchen faucets and had 1/2" and 3/8" fittings. This one has 1/4" fittings. I'm no plumber and this was fairly easy to install. Where to locate the filter was my biggest issue. My refrigerator has the wall on one side and a counter top with drawers on the other side. I finally decided to put it in the little cabinet above the refrigerator. You know, the little cabinet that is pointless as it's hard to reach and too small to hold much of anything of use. In my picture, you'll see some slack in the tubing. That was on purpose so I could pull the filter out making it easier to change. Also, I can pull the refrigerator out, if need be. The back of my refrigerator is very close to the wall, so there was no room to mount the filter back there. Also, I didn't want to have to pull the refrigerator out to just change the filter. I used the included valve on the input of the filter in the cabinet, making it easy to shut off the water for a filter change.

Works great, easy to install, doesn’t have a funny taste and does its job. Would buy again.

I bought this to install behind my daughter’s fridge for her ice maker. It was simple and quick to install. They have not had any problems with it at all. And it seems like it is going to be super simple to change filters when it is time.
