Adagio Teas ingenuiTEA Iced Tea Teapot,clear,28 oz

I got this teapot as a gift 6 years ago from a dear friend who has passed away. Easy to use and portable. Recently, I dropped it on the floor and it cracked. I found it on Amazon by its brand name (IngenuiTEA) and re-purchased it because it IS the best one. Although it is pricy-it's Easy to use, good quality-made of hard plastic. It can break or crack if it falls on the floor from a countertop height. So don't do that! Put 1-2 teaspoons of looseleaf tea right into the pot and then, add hot water. (I use my Keurig but this pot is too big for the Keurig cup platform to sit flat, but the pot has a great-sturdy handle that doesn't get hot when filling!) Then sit the pot on a completely flat surface, reattach the lid and wait for 5 to 10 minutes. Then, set the pot right on top of your cup to release the through the sieve. Tea runs straight down into your cup. Watch to make sure you check your cup capacity and lift the pot off. . . small Demi cups will overflow quickly! This pot is perfect! Caveat: NOT good for stove top heating, and requires a flat surface. NO leaks unless the surface is uneven. Don't place on a saucer or bowel or on a paper towel. Tea capacity depends on how much water you add. Plastic next to the screen may discolor after use. Mine looks green because I drink green tea and I left the tea in the pot overnight. MY Bad! I do not recommend removing the strainer for cleaning-it does come out but it's a tight fit and a bit hard to get back I. I highly recommend this teapot and have bought it twice now!

I purchased this as a gift for someone who enjoyed tea but didn't love the mess loose leaf tea makes (I got them a 1/2 box of lipton loose lead tea with it which is fantastic) and they love it so much it is all the ever use anymore. I decided to get one for myself and try it out. I am SO impressed. The item has been updated since it was original made and I will list the updates (all but one are good) and how I use this. 1. The item is now BPA free which is listed clearly on the box. 2. The filter is not removable and is a very sturdy metal with less plastic. 3. For some reason they no longer include the plastic circular try you sit it on. While your tea is steeping you MUST put it on a hot pad to keep it as hot as possible. The tray worked in place of the hot pad and I;m not sure why they no longer include it. Use: 1. I add 2 teaspoons of loose leaf tea to the teapot (just drop it right in). 2. Using my keurig (most have the now and they make boiling water instant and a breeze). Place the teapot under the drain and open and close the lid (as though you were putting in a cup but don't). 3. Depending on the size of the cup you are using you are going to need to experiment with the amount of boiling water you use. I set mine to the largest cup setting and hit brew. This fills it most of the way. If you want it to the very very top once it is finished but it on the smallest cup setting and hit brew. It will fill it to the teapots very fullest. 4. Close the lid and put it on a hot pad. I steep mine for 5 minutes. For stronger tea steep longer. 5. Simply lift the teapot and place it centered on top of the mug/cup. It will drain out of the bottom like magic. IF you have added too much water and see that it is going to overflow just lift the teapot and it stop instantly. Magic. So easy to use. If your mug opening is very very large (I haven't found one this won't fit) then hold the teapot over the mug and on the edge of the bottom push up and the tea will come out. (this is also how I clean the filter using soapy water) 6. You're tea is done! No mess and NO TEA GROUNDS. None whatsoever. Loose leaf tea used to be such a pain and so messy but not anymore. I recommend the 16oz of this and not the 32. A 16oz makes a nice large cup of tea for one person and it is very easy to fill up and make another one. 32oz is just too big and the tea will get cold, it is much easier just to make more. To clean I just invert and dump the tea leaves and then wash using soap and water. The lid is removable (carefully!) and I clean the filter as mentioned before. I highly highly recommend this. It makes a perfect gift and works wonders. So easy to use and works perfectly.

I gotta be honest with you, I bought this 'teapot' as a last resort.. I am an avid Chinese loose leaf tea drinker at work and wanted something simple and quick for my desk without requiring a kettle and burner. I've tried everything else and was disappointed at everything I've tried, so I was going to resign myself to teabags (ugh) until I came across the IngenuiTEA. With such rave reviews, I thought I would (sigh) try another gadget and worst comes to worst... I can always return it when it inevitably fails me... That was months ago, and since then I have been using this truly ingenious product daily. No complaints! Why did we ever bother with cheap glass kettle infusers which burn our fingers and shatter if we even touch it? Or those clumsy metal ball things that takes forever to scoop two teaspoons of tea into it, never clasp to the side of our mugs in the first place, then leak hot tea everywhere and we fumble with it with burned fingers and the tea comes loose into the precious drink? I even bought expensive mug/filter things that inevitably leak or mold or smell or just create a mess on my desk. I'm not very picky with tea, really. All I want is a) A handle and lid so I can safely carry the hot tea back to my desk from the break room without it getting cold too quickly b) A substantial size so I don't have to keep traveling for my tea c) Keeps my tea leaves separate so I can reuse it a couple more times d) Easy to use and no need to fiddle with hot tea balls or whatever, I'm supposed to be working not fiddling with my mug e) Easy to clean This thing solves all my problems above amazingly. The handle is large and practical for a good grip (none of those dainty small designer handles), the lid is not exactly watertight but enough for a good seal if I fill it to the top. At no point does my fingers touch the actual teapot, but even so it doesn't get too hot. The hefty 16oz is good for two cups of tea (not really enough, I may get the larger size, but it's good really). As I drink my tea from my actual tea mug, the tea leaves are safely contained within the ingenuitea teapot so all I have to do is grab the teapot and top it up with hot water, or toss it and rinse it to clean, or pop it into the dishwasher. No need to scoop out tea leaves from a gross rusting tea ball.. you know what I mean. Nope this is not 'just another kitchen gadget', destined to be shoved to the back of the cabinet. Smart, well designed and above all, simple, this product truly deserves its reputation. Oh.. I do have two 'complaints'... I wish it wasn't plastic. I know it's BPA free, but a more friendly material would be nice, maybe glass or even porcelain or something? Also, your actual drinking mug should be clear, that way you'll know how much tea is flowing into your cup from the teapot. Or else it will spill! EDIT: This thing leaks very easily! It doesn't leak of its own accord, but the moment ANYTHING even slightly TOUCHES the bottom of the cup, the liquid will pool. Even if you just recently drained it, the residual water will still flow out. Even knocking a freshly drained strainer against my thigh will result in a wet spot. I use the strainer, strain it into my mug, and put it aside thinking all the liquid is out, and not realizing it is resting upon an object, even a slightly thick object like a piece of board, and it leaks and pools all over my table. This has happened numerous times. I'm not blaming the product, it works very well, but just a word of caution that the strainer device on the bottom is very VERY sensitive. I work around this by using a saucer specifically for this strainer, and have learned not to place it down anywhere that is not the saucer.

This Gravity kettle is a must for all those who view serving tea as an art. Watch the tea leaves diffuse taste and then just simply place the Teapot on the cup to see the tea in the cup.

Lovely loose tea infuser and a great gift This made a really nice Christmas present for my mum and she’s been using it regularly ever since. It’s a simple but well thought out design that makes brewing loose leaf tea very easy, with no mess and no bits ending up in the cup. You just add the tea, let it brew, then place it over the mug and it pours cleanly, which feels much easier than fiddling with tea balls or bags. The tea tastes great compared with other quick infusers we’ve tried, with the leaves given enough room to expand and release flavour properly. It holds the heat reasonably well too, so you’re not drinking lukewarm tea within minutes, and I’ve not noticed any leakage when pouring as long as you follow the simple tilt-and-pour process. The build quality feels good for everyday use and it’s easy to rinse out after each brew, so it doesn’t feel like a chore to keep clean. Overall it’s been a successful gift and a handy little brewer for anyone who enjoys loose leaf tea.

Perfect for two cups of tea. Works like a charm. Durable, efficient and a delight to use. Makes a great cup of tea. What else can one expect from a tea brewer except having someone else prepare it for me but then I wouldn't have the pleasure of using my favouritie tea maker.
