The best out there (if you're a hue user)
**Pros:** I recently added the Philips Hue Outdoor Motion Sensor to my smart home setup, and it has proven to be a game-changer for my outdoor lighting. Here are some of the key advantages: 1. **Versatile Mounting Options:** The Philips Hue Outdoor Motion Sensor offers versatile mounting options. You can attach it to a wall, ceiling, or even a post, making it highly adaptable to your outdoor space's layout. 2. **Sleek Black Design:** The sensor's sleek black color not only looks stylish but also blends seamlessly with most outdoor aesthetics. It's a tasteful addition to my outdoor decor. 3. **Smart Integration:** This sensor brilliantly controls both my Philips Hue outdoor lights and Innr bulbs within my outdoor wall lamps. It offers seamless synchronization between these devices for a unified lighting experience. 4. **Weatherproof Reliability:** I love that this sensor can handle the elements. With an IP54 rating, it's perfectly suited for outdoor use, whether it's raining or sunny. 5. **Customizable Sensitivity:** The sensor's sensitivity can be adjusted, allowing me to fine-tune the range at which it detects motion. This ensures it caters to my specific needs. 6. **Daylight Sensor:** The built-in daylight sensor is a practical feature. It ensures that my outdoor lights don't turn on during the day, saving energy and prolonging the lifespan of the bulbs. 7. **Long Battery Life:** Thanks to its low-power Zigbee connection, the two AAA batteries last a surprisingly long time. I haven't had to worry about frequent replacements. **Cons:** However, there are a couple of drawbacks to consider: 1. **Pricey for an Accessory:** It's worth noting that this sensor falls on the higher end of the price spectrum for an accessory. But given its solid integration with the Hue system, its support for Innr bulbs, and its durable design, I believe the cost is justified. 2. **Limited Compatibility:** This sensor is primarily designed to work with Philips Hue products. If you have other smart lighting brands in your setup, you might face some integration challenges. That said, it works perfectly with my Innr bulbs. In conclusion, the Philips Hue Outdoor Motion Sensor has made my outdoor smart lighting experience more convenient and secure. Its versatile mounting options, sleek black design, and reliable performance are well worth the investment. Plus, its seamless control over both Philips Hue outdoor lights and Innr bulbs within my outdoor wall lamps adds a layer of sophistication to my outdoor lighting setup. Just make sure it aligns with your existing smart home setup, and you'll enjoy brilliantly illuminated and secure outdoor spaces with a touch of style and flexibility.

simply brilliant
If this little gadget had a personality, it would be that reliable friend who always turns the lights on for you—because that's exactly what it does. No more blindly stumbling into walls or kicking the coffee table in a heroic effort to reach the light switch. My home is now the VIP lounge of convenience, and I owe it all to this tiny motion-detecting wizard. Setup? A breeze. Sensitivity? Spot-on—I once sneezed, and it turned the lights on (okay, not really, but you get the point). And let's talk about its reaction time: it detects motion faster than my cat realizes I’m opening a can of tuna. Honestly, I think the Philips Hue Motion Sensor might be smarter than me. It knows when I’m moving before I even do! 10/10 would recommend for anyone who enjoys effortless lighting and fewer bruised shins.

Another great Hue product.
This is a must have to accompany hue lights. Works great and enables you to set up schedules and actions when motion is detected. I have it paired to my wall lantern which increases the brightness of the light to 100% when motion is detected. Great product. Connects easily.

Works really well
Works really well and is easy to set up. The motion detection is reliable, and the magnetic mount makes adjusting the angle super convenient. Battery life is great too. It’s a bit pricey, but overall a solid and dependable outdoor sensor.

Reliable performance
The Philips Hue Motion Sensor is a great addition to any smart home, especially if you're already using Hue lights. It’s small, blends well with any room, and is super easy to set up. Just connect it to the Hue app, and you're good to go. You can customise it to control lights based on movement and even adjust the settings for different times of day. The motion detection is quick and reliable, with a good range. Plus, it only turns on the lights when it's dark, which helps save energy. It's battery-powered, and the batteries last a long time – up to two years. Overall, it's a solid choice if you want hands-free control of your Hue lights. Much better than all the other options, you get what you pay for.

Works great.
We pair this with a hue light strip and a hue smart button in a laundry area. It’s really handy to switch on the light in the room when going in and out with hands full of stuff, so much so we hardly use the smart button any more. We really like how it’s hands free and then switches off after a couple of mins when no movement detected. Only the smallest of movements is necessary to reactive the light, so no exaggerated waving of arms needed as with some other sensors I’ve used in the past. Small and compact. We attach ours via a magnet to the side of a fridge next to the door so it picks us up immediately the door opens. Simple to set up and use.

Brilliant
Brilliant, once you figure out how to use it. It would be perfect if you didn’t have to set it up not to come on in the daytime. I set mine for 8pm until 6 am. But you also have to mess around setting it up to not come in between 6am and 8pm. Why. I bought a new lamp to ad to my lights, but it kept going off during the day, because you gave up set it to do nothing in the mind section of the ap. Philips need to start including a manual with lights and accessories. I had to contact but through Facebook messenger to sort this out. They are good, and I sorted it. But you really shouldn’t have to do this. Just having one setting is enough, if you only want the sensor to turn on and off at a certain time. The option is there to ad more timers. But hassle to just use one setting. But it’s a good sensor and saves having to keep remembering to turn lights off. Mind now just go off after mins. It’s ideal if you tend to get up in the middle of night. My stairs light come straight on as soon as I leave the bedroom, as well as my kitchen and hallway.

Excellent Product
Excellent indoor sensor for the smart home. We run this on Home Assistant through Zigbee2MQTT using a SMLIGT SLZB-06 coordinator without any issues. The motion detection is accurate and instant, along with the lux sensor which is great for creating dynamic lighting automations that don't simply rely on sunset or fixed times. There is also a temperature sensor within this device, which is great, but it isn't the most accurate. It is usually 1 or 2 degrees out in my experience, but I am not going to put it down for this, as it isn't advertised as a temperature sensor and therefore I don't expect it to behave like one. Don't forget that in terms of the Zigbee network, this is an end device. End devices must be placed near the coordinator or a Zigbee router that can help it reach the coordinator. If you are experiencing connection issues it is quite likely that your Zigbee mesh is poorly designed, and needs more routers to strengthen the mesh. Routers are usually wired Zigbee devices that run on mains power and require a neutral. Overall, this is a high quality product that I would recommend to anyone interested in indoor motion detection.
