Mini Fridge Thermostat, Universal WPF-20 Freezer Thermostat Controller 2pin / Compatible with wpf16 and wpf18【Can Provide Installation Tutorial】

Works great for my mini fridge. I did have to do adjustments to the right screw on the thermostat like 3 full turns to get it not to freeze on dial Number 3 . Also the dial set up is upside down compared to my original. I had to flip it as stated before by 1 reviewer . No biggie. But its working great in My Fireball Whiskey glass door Display mini fridge.

When my small refrigerator stopped cooling after 22 years of service, I had few hopes for bringing it back to life. I determined that it needed a thermostat, but the OEM version was priced at around $75, but I was unable to find one anywhere. This $9 replacement thermostat did the trick. It arrived in about 3 days, much faster than predicted. The refrigerator is now working like new and hopefully is ready for another 22 years. Some modifications were necessary to make this thermostat work. Happily, the original knob and attaching screw were perfect fits, so the new part mounted easily. However, it doesn't come with the rubber sleeve that goes over the capillary tube, so you'll have to salvage this from your old thermostat. The capillary tube on the new one was a bit longer than the old one, so I used some heat shrink tubing and tape to make up the difference in length of the sleeve. The spade connectors on my refrigerator were too small for the larger terminals on the new thermostat, so I had to cut them off and crimp on new ones. For the record, the new thermostat's connectors are a more common size, so there is a good chance that you won't have to make this change. None of these changes were very difficult, but be sure to allow some extra time when installing in case you have to adapt this thermostat to your refrigerator. Overall, I couldn't be happier. I really didn't want to have to get rid of my refrigerator and buy a new one. For less than $10 I was able to resurrect it, saving landfill space and money.

This did not fit my deep freezer however I had to make some adjustments, but it worked just great after I had to make some adjustments to it

Works well, easy install. Stock Kenmore knob doesn't fit well on thermostat (can't push it all the way in), maybe they should ship a knob? Knob indicator also seems off by about 270 degrees. The important things are it works, solved my problem and is a great price. Would buy again!

Thermostat is defective and incorrectly manufactured. Arrival inspection noted the capillary tube was heavily coated in very sticky residue, a potential source of failure due to metal corrosion in a condensate environment of a refrigerator (capillaries should be completely clean of all solder fluxes and residues). I trialed the control knob and it would not fit! This will interfere with closing the refrigerator door. The identical problem was found via another seller's returned product, which this was the "replacement". I repeated the exercise of measuring the retainer prongs for the knob. OEM WP2198202, 0.032" -22GA Chromated 3ART5VW14, 0.039" -20GA Zinc Plated narrow prong 0.251" 0.271" X No-Fit wide prong 0.380" 0.383" OK shaft dia. 0.250" 0.250" OK HouseUP (barcode:X0038WT61R) OEM control knob has two free-fit grooves, a 0.253" and a 0.383" for the retainer prongs. One prong is incorrectly made compared to the OEM part for the respective knob mating surface. The small prong is excessively wide (an impossible fit), however the larger prong is nominal. Note the knob retainer is made of a thicker metal gauge; less give, requiring more potential force. The shaft also has lateral play and springiness because a very important wave/thrust washer is missing from underneath the knob retention stamping. This defect allows free movement of the shaft inward towards the main-spring assembly and sideways, which can affect calibration just by the force of inserting the control knob during installation or dynamic use. There should be no free movement other than rotation! These problems are IDENTICAL to the alternate SKU purchased. In fact the construction and stamped sub-component are the same in profile, measurements and draw marks (a metal stamping's fingerprint). I selected this product because a description photo showed that the underlying washer was part of the construction. However, this thermostat is missing the vital component for proper and reliable function found on both OEM and quality generic replacements. The product is defective, of improper fit/function, and of deficient manufacture. Takeaway: It's apparent that Amazon is stocking the same part constructed by the same manufacturer with different sellers under multiple SKU markings in an identical box (re-badges), but different capillary sleeves. The only difference found was this had a clear vinyl tube sleeve over the capillary, and the other had an opaque-white sleeve of unidentifiable material. The sleeve differences exemplified in their respective product photos, however the products' construction do not match the photos.
