Great patio heater and great customer service
I purchased two East Oak 50,000 BTU patio heaters. The first one I purchased has been working fantastically for three years and I am thrilled with the performance. I replaced a previous patio heater that "looked cool' with a vertical flame, but did not give us enough warmth. The East Oak unit has a higher heat capacity and makes us much more comfortable on our patio. The paint on the base/cover for the propane tank has faded a touch in 3 years of full central Arizona sun. I leave the patio heater outside all year because the base/cover makes another nice little table in our patio area. Only slight paint fading in three years is very positive and a compliment to the quality of the unit. Most things fade much more quickly in the full sun in Phoenix. I purchased a 2nd patio heater that I never assembled during the first winter after purchase. "Winters" are short in Phoenix. the next year in 2024/5, we had very mild winter, even by Phoenix standards, so I never opened the packaging to assemble the new unit. I recently opened the box and assembled the heater (assembly was very easy, by the way). The patio heater fired right up, but the pilot light would not stay on. East Oak customer service was very helpful and gave me some tips on the phone and via email. When those tips did not work, East Oak asked for a short video of me trying to keep the unit lit. They determined the unit was faulty and are sending a replacement for the upper unit free of charge. The East Oak support staff have been fantastic to work with. I called them a couple of separate times and was on hold for less than a minute each time. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. When it was clear my unit was deficient, they were quick to offer a replacement free of charge even, though the upper portion of the unit was out of warranty because I did not open the box and assemble the new unit for nearly 3 years. Patio heaters are a great outdoor addition in Phoenix in the winter where we often have 'no burn' days where we cannot have wood fires. I cannot say enough good things about our existing Eat Oak patio heater and the quick way East Oak has replaced my defective unit.

Don't you just love it when ...
Don't you just love it when after you decide you want something, like a stainless steel patio propane heater, and you search and search, then decide on the one you want because it has good features and the price is good, and then you order it. Then it comes in early, the box is not damaged, the heater is in perfect condition, all the parts are there, all the hardware is there (plus some extra) and the instructions are simple but concise and easy to follow. Then you roll it onto your deck or patio, put a tank of propane in it, fire it up and it lights and works the first time. My wife and I set out under it the night after it arrived and it puts out plenty of heat. It was about 40 degrees, which is not to cold in the South the first week of December. It can drop into the teens here in January and February. Rollers make it easy to move and I like that it has a "tip over - cut off feature". Our pergola is covered with a clear tarp. The instructions say to keep this heater 48" from anything but the tarp is about 36" above it and I was worried about it with the heat. However, the big top shield keeps the heat from hurting it. I like that this one has the bottom panel that lifts up and rests on the unit to put in or take out the tank rather than a door. The ones with doors that I have seen seem to not work well nor look good. This one has an opening, front and rear, in the lower panel to reach in and to turn on/off the tank. Looks good, easy to use and it works well. All in all, my wife likes it. What more can I say?

Tons of Heat
I purchased two of these heaters for a covered patio area. These were the highest BTU units (55,000) that I could find on Amazon. They are no joke. They put out a ton of heat (you can't stand next to them on the highest setting). The assembly was straighforward with clear instructions, and all of the necessary hardware. I had a question for East Oak customer service, and they were super responsive. One tip - it is easier to fill the weighted platform with the sand/water mixture before securing it to the base. If you need heat, don't look any further. Well made and works well.

A great portable heater for the patio or the garage!
This is a great heater for the garage and I imagine for the patio too. Unfortunately, it got too cold for patio use so I'll have to test that out in the Spring. I have tried using those sunflower heaters you put on 20# cylinders as well as a 200,000 BTU propane contractor canister heater in my unfinished garage, and what little radiates off of those does little to keep me warmed, and the rest, well just goes up through the trusses and out the ridge vent! Enter the patio heater. With it's large reflector, it reflects much of the radiant heat downward back to the floor where I want it, and surprisingly, very little goes over the heater - less than one would expect. So, why only four stars? This unit is delivered with "some assembly required." This was not an issue until I got to assembling the heater post and the heater head. The bolts and threaded inserts stripped out while securing these parts. The bolts to secure the head post extension were very soft and I stripped out one of the Philips heads in securing that part. I am currently using the heater in this condition, but when I start moving it around, I'm sure I will need to readdress this problem. In addition, the holes for the heater head didn't align well, and the head is slightly tilted. So, besides the assembly issues, I'm still quite pleased with the unit. It looks great and performs well and is like a heated oasis in a sea of ice! I'm sure it will be very enjoyable in the cool Spring and Autumn nights on the patio as well!

Works great, easy to assemble & lights every time. I would buy again.

The heat is there and is easy to light up. On the other hand, after one year, there are some spots (light surface rust) on the stainless(!) steel cover over the propane bottle. I’m unable to get rid of them.
