These completely covered my shoes and went high enough on the lower leg to keep bugs out of that area. I actually bought them to go over a 2X size full body Tyvek suit with attached feet so that I could wade into deep, thick foliage without fear. They never fell down or got in the way. I’m female and wear a large 9.5 double wide shoe because of failed foot surgery. It is needed because there are protruding bones in the bottom of my foot from failed foot surgery. (How do I feel about that surgeon? Cannot go barefoot anywhere.) Anyway, these are roomy covers that one of the reviews says that it fits their size 13 steel toe work shoes. I bought these covers to prolong the life of the Tyvek suits. But there was another reason for them. Years ago I used to train asbestos workers on how to suit up and go through decontamination. That included duct taping around the ankles to prevent tripping. The suits for asbestos were of course disposable, but these added boots have elastic around the ankles as well as at the top of them. They never slip down. So no need for duct tape there. They have held up very well. Seem very durable. And yes, they are waterproof.

These booties seem well enough made to do what I will use them for. Believe it or not my purpose for the booties is for handling SKUNKS that have sprayed the area down. I don't want my clothing or shoes getting the SKUNK spray on them. So far haven't use them but I know it's coming. Pewwww!!!!

These are great for keeping the dew off of your shoes. I do morning garden chores like weeding and trimming in my sandals. I'd buy them again for this use alone. Quality is good. I reuse them over and over. My small shoe size means they are a bit large for me but they are comfortable. I used them as boot covers to keep my rubber boots clean during a messy muddy job. Just pull them off and the sticky kids goes right to the bin. The functionality of this design extends beyond the garden. Also used for painting and outside perimeter pest control protection (along with hazard suit and respirator).
