Got this as a classroom give for my sons pre-k teacher and she loves the quality of this. It’s fun for all the kids but also teaches at the same time. The size is great and I love the ease of use for little hands. Bright bold colors. She loves this gift 10/10

The was perfect for working on a unit about weight and measures with my 5 year old! He understood the concepts right away using the scale. He enjoyed using it and we compared the weight of LOTS of objects. The little buckets lift out easily which was great for comparing liquids. It’s very sturdy and easy to store in its box with other school supplies.

These are excellent for math groups and easy for my Kinder class to use! They had a great deal of fun weighing everything in the classroom!

This is a nice scale and a good size for 3 & 4 year olds. Why is there a lid? They are just going to get lost.

My 4 and 7 year old kids both love playing with this scale. We got a set of Learning Resources weights (https://www.amazon.com/Hexagram-Weights-Set-LER-4292/dp/B000URFT3G/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=learning+resources+weights&qid=1600224656&sr=8-1) to go with it. Mostly I have let them figure out what they can do with it so far. First, my daughter weighed some of her small toys (Scrubby Pets animals) and used the weights to compare them. Then, they realized that the containers could hold water, so they decided to compare weights for liquids. This was just in our first week of owning the toy. Since we are doing a lot of home learning activities right now, I can see us pulling this out more when my older kid learns about measurement or just for fun as we cycle through our different science tools. Using the weights has been a great way to reinforce addition for my daughter (since to make up the weight for one Scrubby Pet she might have to add 10+10+5+1g) and for my younger child to learn the concepts of more/less or heavier/lighter. If I had one complaint, it is that the buckets on either side of the scale slip off easily and have to be put back on a lot. The plastic on the buckets is not as sturdy as it could be. However, as with all Learning Resources items I've purchased, the design is well thought out and it doesn't have more bells and whistles than needed to convey the main function and concept.

This was the third balance I bought. And it works! Very sensitive to small differences in weight — which is good. Nice tabs for “zeroing” the scale. Looks like resilient construction. I’m satisfied.

I purchased this to be used in a preschool rainbow rice sensory bin. It works great for that purpose, which is to encourage exploration of weights and measurements. So far it has held up well, although it is not particularly sturdy. The clear cups are prone to misalignment and falling off the groves. Overall, it’s a good value for the price and perfect for preschool.

I bought this scale for my sons to replace an older (non Learning Resources brand) scale that had broken. Pulled it out of the box, set it up, and realized it was very badly unbalanced. After tinkering with the calibration sliders (these shift the weight on each side to -- hopefully -- correct for issues of slight weight variations to either side), it still couldn't be balanced -- one of the cups was far too heavy for even the calibration sliders to offset. After fussing with it a bit more, finding an absolutely perfectly level surface to set it upon, (this was a bit of a challenge as all of our surfaces were just ever so slightly not quite level), weighting one side with more than just the weight of the sliders, we managed to finally balance the gram of difference between the two cups. We marked the cups AND the beams to be sure to not mix up which went where when assembled, and now it's usable. I do realize this was an inexpensive toy, but one shouldn't need to go through so much to even get it to work as intended. :/ Thankfully I had the tools I needed to correct for the issues, but that's not ideal.

Great items for kids

I bought this for my 2 1/2 year old daughter and she loves playing with it we have had this out most days weighing different items from around the house. It is very well made and durable which is fab especially with a toddler playing with it. The scales are just the right size for a young child to play with and brightly coloured which makes it more appealing.I like the draw at the front you can fit quite a few items in there to keep things tidy which all moms will love.
