Read and write Hindi script (Teach Yourself)

I absolutely love this book, it’s easy to use, the layout is great. I also found that the information was gradually presented in such a way to help one ease into different subjects. For example, there is a introduction to the script then writing practice and finally basic vocabulary is introduced using letters you have learned and before you know it you are reading!!! It’s pretty fun and the progression of learning is amazing. I recommend this book.

This book will teach you how to read and write the Hindi language very effectively and clearly. I am surprised how this book takes the mystery out of learning how to read and understand the letters in the Hindi alphabet and what they mean and how to write them. Even if you never master speaking the Hindi language. You will definitely learn to read and write Hindi with this book.

This new edition is good. Things are broken down in such a way that it is relatively easy to learn. Still, like the rest of the series, it throws quite a bit at you and would be best in a classroom setting.

A very thorough book for learning to write Devanagari. Lots of examples of "real" script from signs and handwriting. I like that it doesn't have large empty spaces for me to practice writing on. I'm not paying for empty pages with lines, I can practice writing in a notebook. Great coverage of the conjunct letters. I chuckled when the author wrote that Devanagari was an easy alphabet, yet here he wrote a whole book to learn to read and write it! It's not super hard, but it has complexities.

I bought this book along with the Hindi Flash Cards Kit, one month ago. Today I can read the Hindi text on the flash cards, even though I don't have all the words memorized yet. Along with Essential Hindi (Tuttle) to actually learn sentence structure, I am very happy with my progress in a short time.

I am trying to learn Hindi. This book will be my guide to learn how to write and read it. It is very well structured and contains more information and exercises I hoped for. The print is very good readable. The format and light weight will allow me to carry it with me. Very happy with this purchase.
