I bought these as a gift to someone who loves chap sticks. She attaches it to the inside side of her bag, so she doesn't have to fumble around to find them. As others have alluded to, when you look at the design, you wonder how the chap stick is going to stay inside it, since it's an open end design. But it works very well and the chap stick is secure. The extension is also great as well. The length allows you to keep your bag or briefcase at their normal positions and just extend the holder, and then it goes right back into place. I think pretty much anyone who uses chap sticks or lip balms would appreciate this. I'm not even sure why these aren't more popular. It makes life much easier. I would get it for any one that uses chap sticks. It's not a glamorous gift nor an expensive one, but it is a useful one that they will use for sure and appreciate. I ordered this more than a year ago, and she still uses this.

We have one of these in each of our cars clipped to the sun visor. It is very easy to reach up to grab our lip balm to use while we are driving without ever taking our eyes off the road. After extracting it for use then it just retracts back to its location. One of the most economical useful gismos I have ever owned. My wife gave me my first one as a joke gift but it turned out to be one of my most used gifts. This is just perfect for a gift because of its cost and usefulness.

Love it! I got it for my two boys [who are 9 and 6] to keep on their backpacks. They easily have access to their chapstick without constantly misplacing it. Their lips get the care it needs without it feeling like a “chore” to them. Best part is, I don’t have to hunt for chapstick when we need it most. And no more tubes of chapstick in the laundry. Everyone wins.

I have had 2 of these, one broke & the other one I loss but I never loss my chapstick! I have one for my lighter too because someone always stole my lighter at the bar but I quit smoking but still carry it because I never know if ur need on!
