do they fit a regular size muffin baking pan or do they bake without a pan?

The bottom will kinda sit in a regular sized muffin pan but they work best in a large muffin pan. I have used them free standing on a cookie sheet too.

I have used them free standing, just don’t over fill and I used them in a regular muffin tin. Never bought a deep muffin pan for these.

Can these be used (baked) without the muffin pan (stand alone)?

YES you can bake with these Silicone Muffin Cups WITHOUT a muffin pan! I tried baking muffins both ways and with a muffin pan, it takes a lot longer to cook the muffins all the way through to the center and they turned out dry. I NOW use just the muffin cups and place them on a cookie sheet. My muffins come out moist and perfect! Baking is so much faster and easer and clean up is faster too!
