My dryer is 6 years old. The bending flex plastic mildly cracked a few years ago, (see pic) but it still worked ok. This last month, it opened up more letting lint escape into the out-ducts. Not good. Plus I could barely push it back in or pull out. Ordered this OEM part. I’m pleased, it really drops right in and out without any fuss, see quick video. Hopefully this will last another 5-6 years.

I've been having an issue with my LG dryer for the past year. On settings higher than low, my dryer would shut down due to a blockage/overheating (according to the display code). I had all of the ducts cleaned in my house (including the dryer vent) and it didn't improve. It would take hours for loads to dry on low (more than normal). I finally called an appliance repairman and he said it looked like it might be the filter. I look clear to me, but microscopic particles (usually from dryer sheets) can get caught in the filter and prevent air flow. We tried to dryer without the filter - no issues. I ordered this filter from Amazon because it was a lot cheaper (and faster delivery) than ordering it from the appliance repair shop. My dryer now works perfectly! Who knew that it could be such a simple solution?!

***Updated review: Updating review to 5 stars after figuring out that my filters were actually being damaged by very specific brand and type of dryer sheets! Got rid of all the dryer sheets and switched to wool balls and static cloths and have no issues with the latest lint filter that I purchased. ——- Original Review: Mesh develops holes after 2 months My original mesh filter for my DLEX8100V developed holes after a little over 2 years of use. I’ve bought this product with confidence thinking that an OEM replacement will last the same amount of time. The first one I bought lasted 2 months and developed holes in the mesh same as the first so I bought another thinking that it may have been a fluke. Now 2 months later, my second filter again has holes in the mesh. Not sure what to do since there doesn’t seem to be a better replacement option but also can’t keep buying new lint filters every two months either.

Excellent quality..do not buy anything except the actual product from LG.. LG’s filter is only $9.00 more than from a compatible version..You get what you pay for..I bought another along with actual LG brand to compare and the other is JUNK . Doesn’t compare at all. Other brands are hard Cheap plastic , also hard to open and filter screen is poorly attached.You’ve spent a lot of money on your dryer so don’t cheap out on something cheaper ..
