Does this work on exposed aggregate pool deck?

I just put it in on mine. It is much harder to do on this type of surface. First you have to measure out the area and use a cement grinder (luckily I had one... you can by a really cheap one for $30 at Lowes or HD) to grind down the area flat under where the main plate will go. Unfortunately, there is no way to be super precise with this so you will have some flat places exposed around where the plate goes. Not horrible, but obvious if you know what you are looking at. Next, the hardest part... getting the holes to line up and the hold drill to go in clean and straight. You have to use an impact drill. I tried a regular drill with the same concrete bit and got almost nowhere. With the impact drill even, though, the problem is that the bit tends to glance off of the little pebbles of the exposed aggregate. Once the initial 1/4 inch is started, it isn't much of an issue, but that first part can be very problematic. I used a hardened still pointed pick and a hammer to start a hole. You could probably use a much smaller bit and work up to the large bit, but I only had the one bit supplied in the kit. If the holes aren't perfect, you will have to expand the holes by pressing the drill sideways against the inside of the holes expanding them. If you have to expand a lot (like I did in one hole), you will have to back fill it with something around the mollies (I used very thin finishing nails). This filler is hidden so it doesn't matter. Once mounted, you might have to take it all out again to level the surface since you hand grinded it (that includes picking out all of the back fill material). I had to do that 3 times to get it level, so don't do a full tightening until you are sure it is flush mounted and the mollies are grabbing. All in all, it worked out. Very secure and looks fine. Took me about 90-120 minutes after I had all the right tools (about twice as long as it is supposed to, but still workable). Hope that helps.

How deep do the anchor bolts go into the ground?

The entire length of the screw, about 2 3/4" inches deep

I don't have mush of a walk way. Need rail ladder that doen't interfer with walk way Any suggestions

This rail can be mounted about 10 inches from the pools edge

My pool coping is 12" brick. Can I mount 2 anchors in brick and 2 in concrete to get railing closer to pool and maximize rail overhang on the pool?

Can't see why not. As long as your brink and concrete are even you should be good.

The railing was a great compact product for our in-ground pool steps! The install was simple with the supplied stainless lag bolts and concrete anchors.. All I had to do was drill four 3/8” holes in the deck concrete for the concrete anchors. This is a very sturdy railing and it is reasonably priced. I would buy it again.

Very pleased! We've needed a grab rail for several years. We didn't want one that was too big and get in the way of the walk area or one that looked gross or out of place. Then it was researching what type of installation. We didn't want to drill monster holes in the deck to install. We weren't sure about this "easy install" rail and how sturdy it would be but took a chance and ordered it. There really wasn't any reviews to read - only one that said nothing but gave it five stars. It has four bolts with Molly screws and washers. No instructions but none really needed. We took the grab rail and lined it up to the left of the pool steps till we decided the best placement. Then took a pencil and mark the four holes on the deck with the grab rail still in place - then put the rail to the side. My husband borrowed a hammer drill and drilled the four holes using a 5/16 drill bit - we vacuumed out the concrete dust from the holes - tapped the mollies into the holes -positioned the rail over the holes and screwed in the bolts. When all four screws were in place we tightened them down. Done! Took about 10 minutes. We tested it for any wiggle - pulled with our weight from inside the pool - hanging on it - tugging on it - just to make sure. It's sturdy and safe! It's made extremely well - the welds are flawless on the base and it was exactly what we needed. Had we known it was going to be such a simple thing we would've put this in a few years ago. We pondered the idea for several years not wanting to tackle a big job around the pool. This was as easy as handing a picture frame. The size and look of this rail in unobtrusive. After installing we had and after thought about the neoprene rail cover. This rail is thick stainless steel and here in Las Vegas, NV., it gets really hot! So we ordered the four foot rail cover from Rail Grip here on the Amazon site - which came two days later. It fit perfect on this grab rail like they where made to go together. I highly recommend ordering the two together. We feel so much better having a sturdy, safe grab rail with a rail cover so no one gets burned. It's perfect!
