Amazing!
Great shave cream! I like to use shaving soaps but when I am in a pinch for time, use this instead. Makes awesome lather, smells great, and the razor glides with ease. Also, a little goes a long way so tin lasts for awhile.

Wow, I love this Stuff. Simple ingredients, Wonderful Smell.
I looked for a long time to find a shaving cream that wasn't loaded with ingredients that I didn't want all over my face. This one fit the bill, and it did not disappoint. I've used Proraso (which is very nice), and Art of Shaving (all Sandalwood), and for the price, smell, and feel, the Rocky Mountain wins out. Not to put down Proraso or Art of Shaving. Art of Shaving Sandalwood has an amazing smell, and I love their pre-shave, and after shave balms, but I wanted something with fewer, and simplier ingredients. The Rocky Mountain Barber Company (whew, that's a lot to type, let's go with RMBC), shaving cream is made with the following: Water, Stearic Acid, Cocos Nucifera (coconut oil), Glycerin, Potassium Hydroxide, Aloe Barbadensis, Sodium Hydroxide, Fragrance/parfum, Menthol, Sodium Borate, Glyceral Caprylate and Glycercal Undecylenate, Allantoin, Santalum Spicatum (sandalwood) oil. It's got real sandalwood oil in it (other creams will only list it as fragrance, but this has the real Santalum Spicatum in it), but the smell, probably from the coconut oil is somewhat sweet, and the addition of menthol makes it go on very cool. You almost don't need an after shave balm with this. Just rinse with cold water, and you'll really feel it. It's awesome. I will say that this is much more viscous than other creams. It goes on thick, and I find myself needing to really clean out my double edge razor. I think the trick is that a little goes a long way. There's no need to over-do the application. Since it is a little more viscus, I find I need to clean out my application brush a little better than with other creams. Small price to pay however for a shaving cream that is fantastic. The tin is high quality and could be used to store spent razors (if you use double edge) for later disposal. All in all. This is great stuff.

Soothing, great smelling shave.
I've been on the hunt for a great shaving cream for as long as I have been shaving, for the past 20 years. I really don't like any of the box store canned sprays. I prefer using a shaving brush, and I need a cooling aspect. I have tried and liked Art of Shaving, but don't find the value to match it's high price point. Thus far, I've Pacific Shaving Company caffeinated cream has been my staple for the past few years. Recently, they increased the price, and my local Target stopped carrying it, so I decided to explore other options. I tried a few hyphy brands from Ulta, just to be overspent and disappointed. So I found Rocky Mountain Barber (and Taylor, and Viking Revolution). While some reviewers complained of the menthol aspect of RMB, this was the exact selling point for me. The RMB shave is so soothing and cooling, that I don't end up with irritation. I can actually shave daily. The initial lather was a bit thick, tacky, and almost sticky. Blending and lathering with a tiny bit of water resolves this issue, or a perfect viscosity. The scent is great, a spicy woody scent, but not too strong or overbearing. It has a bit of that barbershop throwback smell (so I wonder what the Barbershop scent smells like in comparison). Some reviewers complained that the scent wasn't strong enough or lasted long enough, but me, this is a great thing. I don't want to have an insanely strong smell. So in short, I get a very clean, soothing shave, that smells great. As others have said, practice with your water to soap ratio to find your ideal lather.

Gotta try it
I have always wanted to try this type of shaving cream and so glad I did. This stuff is amazing and a LITTLE goes a long ways. I bought the brush also. I run warm to hot water on the brush to soften up the brush. Then put like a tiny dab of shaving cream on it and rub it on. I am really amazed by how smooth this shaving cream is and it smells good. Once all shaved rinse off the brush and all done, it’s truly that easy. I will buy again and will never go back to Edge shaving cream. I am supporting a local American product.

Weak on scent.
Ok shave soap, very weak on scent, not great on lather. Will stick with Taylor of old Bond Street.

My favorite
This is the best I've used. Thick - a dab from the can takes care of my head and beard - add a little water and it's smooooooooth!

Love the Tingle
So I've been shaving with Taylor of Old Bond St. Sandalwood Shaving Cream for the past year and I use a Panasonic Wet/Dry razor. Started off really well with the T of OB St and I kept placing repeat orders because I loved the smell. However, after about the second, or third order something changed and it no longer had that strong Sandalwood smell. As a matter of fact I knew it was time to start looking for a new product when my wife stated that the T of B smelled like hair removal cream. So I took a shot in the dark and ordered the Rocky Mountain Sandalwood Shave Cream. When first opening the can it sorta/kinda smells a bit like Sandalwood however, after you apply it to your face it's hard to detect, but it does have a very nice, pleasant smell. Most importantly it gets the approval of "her that must be obeyed". What I really like is the way it lathers up with my badger bristle brush and it produces a great tingle of menthol after shaving and rinsing off. All in all, good to go. Hopefully, the Canadians up there in the N. Woods cranking out the product can maintain quality control and deliver the same level of consistency for my follow-on orders.

This was a pleasant surprise. I typically prefer harder pucks over creams and have around a half dozen in my shaving rotation, but I find myself reaching for RMBC's Sandalwood more often than I thought I would. The tin it comes in is a nice departure from the plastic tubs you typically get with most small batch soaps. I'll stick an almond sized dollop of this into my wet synthetic brush and lather directly on my face (I'm not a bowl/mug latherer), dipping the tips of the brush into my sink to add a bit of water until I develop a nice shiny lather, a little thicker than whipped cream. The menthol is a very nice amount. It won't slap you in the face like a lot of highly mentholated soaps out there, but it is nice and refreshing, especially on a hot muggy day. Scent is entirely subjective, but I enjoyed this scent. It would be more accurate to call it a Vanilla Sandalwood. It is a powdery, sweet scent, which isn't what someone looking for a more woody sandalwood may want. If you enjoy vanilla scents, this one may be worth a look. Scent strength is medium-strong, and I can still pick it up 2-3 hours after the shave. When paired with the matching RMBC Sandalwood Post Shave Balm, the scent is strong, and I can still pick up whiffs of it up to 5 hours later. Performance-wise, this lathers up nicer than Taylor of Old Bond Street, and is a little slicker too. Post shave feel isn't quite as nourishing though. It's still much better than canned foam and many of the cheap mass produced soaps (like Proraso for example). The matching Sandalwood balm that RMBC offers does a lot to rectify this, although it can leave your skin feeling a little greasy, and it feels a little heavy outdoors in the summer. Overall, I'd buy it again. At full price I think there are several artisan soaps that offer better performance for the same cost, but when on sale for $16-17 it's a pretty good buy.

I have used different brands of shaving creams and I finally found one that leaves my skin smooth after shaving. This is a recurring purchase for me now, its the only shaving cream I use and will use as long as they sell it. The smell, how it lathers on your skin and how great the shave is after is what you are looking for! and let me tell you, it pays dividends every time. I only shave every 3 days and I don't dread it at all. I have started to use more rocky mountain items because I thoroughly enjoyed this product so much and have recommended it to all my friends. Also, I really like the sandalwood smell. The value for the money here is 10/10 - The 5 oz tin lasts me so long is not even funny. I do understand that some people may shave everyday and they may go through it fast but I am lucky I only have to do it twice a week. I would definitely pay full price if I need but I have seen it at a discount. What's the best thing about this product? its Canadian Made! another reason to support them for sure. I will forever be a loyal customer!

Best creamed I've used so far when shaving with no prep and in terms of sickness. I think this cream is best when face lathering as it doesn't build lather much as others or as quickly, but don't let that deter you as even with less visible lather it doesn't take away its performance. You can still get a creamy lather if you use more and work it longer. It was slick when I was just using a little bit with a wet face. This will now be my go to if I'm in a hurry and or dont have time to shower and prep or whip up lather in a bowl. It has menthol so during the shave you will feel it's cooling affect. Some people find it weird especially pairing menthol with a sandalwood scent but that's subjective it doesn't bother me. After the shave feels nice, I can feel the ingredients doing good for my skin. The scent - not sure if it's my favorite or not yet but it's one of the better sandalwood creams/soaps I've tried out of 5 others, it definitely got my attention most. It has a very nice and definitely sweet aroma. It is not a woody, ashy or smokey scent like actual sandalwood but it has a hint of sandalwood smell while mostly being "sweet". The smell is strong when sniffing the tin of cream, but after the shave it maybe lasts 2~ hours and is not so strong after use. The -1 star for this product is it's value. It would at least be alright if the tin is filled to near its brim but it comes with 1/4 of the tin already missing. Quite unsatisfying to see that empty chunk. It feels like the cream can be used up quite fast or faster than others too. While this isn't the most expensive as there are more expensive artisans soaps out there, still it's not of great value. It was worth buying the first time to try it as it pleased me but will have to really consider if I will buy more later. You can find alternatives that are cheaper, shave well, and last longer.

This is definitely some high quality shaving creme. My face is exceptionally smooth after shaving and the smell is great. Minimizes knicks and cuts and provides a totally smooth shave and your skin feels wonderful after use.

Not a bad shaving product, but i find there are a couple drawbacks that would prevent me from buying this again; - the smell is extremely strong and it’s not a great scent, very artificial smelling and it gets sickening quickly - it leaves a soapy residue that’s hard to get off, the feeling reminds me of putting too much dish soap on a plate and having to really try to rinse it all off - it’s not a shave butter or a foamy cream, it’s more of a shampoo/conditioner texture Overall I wanted to try this instead of Brickell shave butter as this is a bit cheaper but I plan to switch back after this is gone
