Serving thread with tool cheaper then buying it alone

We liked the thread. Needed to fix the server on our kids Bow. It worked well but came undone after a week at camp. Not sure if that is due to thread quality or inexperience at tying it on

Durable hunk of metal, not scared of it breaking. Easy to get proper tension. The serving material is great too, proper thickness and seems to hold well. I'm pleased with it.

I use this for serving fishing knots and it is fantastic.

This was the same cost as having my local bow shop replace the serving on my bow. It allowed me to quickly fix replace it myself and now I have enough twine to do it several more times.

You should be able to adjust the spool friction by tightening the wingnut. There is too much space between the frame and spool ends to be able to toghten it. The bolthead should be kept from rotating by adjacent the little bump on the frame, but the bump isn't large enough and close enough to the bolthead to stop it rotating I had to buy a star lockwasher for the bolthead and some spacer washers to put between the frame and spool.

I've been using this style server for over 30 years and have always found it to be easy to use and gives a smooth serving. I haven't made a bow string in a long time and it's good to see that a product like this is still available. I made my first string yesterday and the end and center servings came out spot on.
