Miracle Care Kwik Stop Styptic Powder for Dogs, Cats and Birds, 1.5 Ounce, Fast-Acting Blood Stop Powder with Pain Relieving Benzocaine

I always have Miracle Care Kwik Stop ready to use when I clip my dog's nails. I am very careful and try to judge by the color of the nail, but once in a while I just get too close and it bleeds. Just dip a wet q-tip in the powder and apply to the nail for a few minutes and the bleeding stops. I try to file the nails before they get too long. My little dog doesn't mind and is very at ease. The quality is great and works fast. The size is just right and I just scoop a little on a piece of wax paper.

Works really well especially with accidental cut of the quick. My dog has black nails and have cut a couple of his where it bled. Stopped the bleeding immediately. Have also used it on a cut on his foot pad. Works immediately.

Great to have on hand when trimming dog claws. Works fast and effective to stop bleeding if you cut the quick of the claw. We have 2 German Shepherd Dogs and they tend to pull their paws away when trimming their claws....these occasionally leads to a mis-cut. This styptic powder product is highly effective and fast to get the bleeding to clot. A pinch pressed against the cut tip of the claw with a few seconds of pressure to keep it in place is all that is needed for it to form a clot. We have had the same container for the past 4 years and pull it out at the ready every time we trim claws, just in case. The only issue we have with this product is the lid does not stay on very well. We solved that issue by placing a large square of saran wrap over the top before replacing the lid....it gets stored in a small ziplock bag along with the claw clippers and has not leaked once in the 4 years we have had it. I would definitely buy again to replenish if/when we run out.

As a devoted dog owner for 25 years, I've had plenty of experience trimming my dogs' nails at home, and this product has been a lifesaver. It works incredibly fast to stop bleeding from accidentally cutting your pets' nails too close to the quick (hence the name kwik stop). Please note that this product is not suitable for deep cuts or wounds, as it wasn't designed for that purpose. However, it's effective for small cuts and scrapes. For those of you who want to take care of your pets' nail maintenance at home but are worried about cutting too close, I highly recommend keeping this bottle handy. It's a reliable tool for the job. Plus, a little bit of kwik stop powder goes a long way, and it even contains a mild pain reducer, which gives you peace of mind that your dog's toe won't be causing them any discomfort. A helpful tip I can share is to place a small amount of kwik stop powder in the lid. Then, take a cotton swab (the kind used for cleaning ears, not a cotton ball) and dampen it with cold water. Roll the cotton swab in the powder. This way, if you accidentally make the nail bleed, you can easily apply the cotton swab with the powder to the nail, making the process less messy and more manageable. Alternatively, you can store the kwik stop powder in the lid and dip the nail into it, but be cautious, as the packaging lid may sometimes come off, leading to spills. Good luck! It's worth noting that the packaging lid could be improved to prevent such spills.

As long as you use it according to directions, it works wonders when you accidentally clip too close.

I got this after a couple of “bloody” incidents while clipping my dog’s nails. It does exactly what it says - just a small amount is enough to stop the bleeding. I do wish I’d get better at clipping her nails so I wouldn’t need to use this, but it feels great knowing I have it on hand for peace of mind.

Kwik Stop is AMAZING! We have used it for years and years. But, our new local pet store carries other styptic powder brands so we bought them after we ran out of Kwik Stop. None of the other brands worked half as well. Kwik Stop stops the bleeding on our dogs paws almost instantly if we accidentally cut a nail quick too short. We didn’t even realize that other brands didn’t work as well until we tried them so we drove around looking for Kwik Stop and couldn’t find it in any local stores. Thank goodness for Amazon. We ordered it and It arrived in 2 days
