Game changer for international travel
This water bottle transformed my international vacation from spending time boiling water to the ease of filling up at any available sink or stream. It does require about a minute total of work between pulling the bottle apart, filling it up, and then pressing the filter down, but it's well worth it to not have to suck hard on a straw (which causes wrinkles around your lips). Also, you can filter your water in this bottle and then pour that into a cup or onto your toothbrush or to wash your face (which cannot be done with a straw-filter bottle.) The only way this bottle could be improved would be a way to attach the small cap so it's not misplaced or dropped (the geopress model does have a cap cord and I'm not sure why they removed that on this ultrapress model). It does not hold a ton of water (the filter takes up some space) so I also brought a second normal bottle to fill and pour into this Grayl. The grayl does leave a bit of water on the floor when you press it down (seems to come out between the seal on the bottom while pressing) so be mindful where you do this. I appreciate that this bottle is somewhat slender so it fits into my daypack's side pocket. (If the diameter is not an issue for you, consider the geopress, which holds more water, can handle a higher particulate level, doesn't have the seal issue at the bottom, and has the cap-keeper.) Very effective and safe drinking water.
Must have when travelling abroad using unknow water sources. A++++ Great for civil emergency use too :) Don't forget to stock up on the replacement filters.

Worth the price but could use 2 more features
A friend had one of these and I was impressed by the quality and ease of purifying water from any stream or lake. Had to get one for myself. No awful carbon taste, and it’s awesome that you can filter water and pour it into another container or add fruit infusions or flavored powders to it. No difficult straw to suck through! I only wish the screw-on cap had a tether, and I’d love to see a built-in carabiner clip added to the handle. Then it’d be perfect! That was a big miss on the design and why I docked one star. Used it for a long weekend in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and it worked great.

A good solution to having clean water wherever you go
The benefit of this bottle is that you know you have clean water regardless of the water source used and regardless of where you go. It is a bit tough to push the water through the filter, but i assume that is because the filter works well so if there is no solution to that then it is worth the trade-off.

Great for travel
These are awesome. I travel a lot and sometimes, even hotel tap water can taste a bit off. I switched to a Grayl for my travel water bottle. Total overkill yes, but it works. I also keep one in our RV for those campsites with questionable water sources.

It leaks. Not worth your money.
I've been dealing with leaking Ultrapress bottles for 2 months and trying to get resolutions with Grayl. The leak occurs between the inner press and outer bottle for both Ultrapress that I purchased. One purchase via Amazon and one directly on their website. We've gotten one of them mainly functional, but not the 2nd one. In fact, Customer Service has ignored repeated requests for help with the 2nd one purchased via Amazon. Now they're saying they've responded to all my concerns. I can't recommend a product that gets my other gear and clothes wet from basic use and transport and then a company that doesn't respond to customer concerns.

Takes all nasty water taste away!
Worth it's weight in gold! Whenever I travel to my brother's house their water is so yucky, full of minerals smells and tastes like Sulphur:/ I drink so many bottles of water and the waste and the microplastic is the worst. This took out ALL the nasty flavor and smell. Im seriously impressed!

Macht was se machen soll.

The bottle was not sealed/tied to the packaging by the wire tie that is supposed to be there and the instruction manual was not included. I am concerned this unit may have already had the filter activated or that it could have been tampered with. Aso, I would like the little manual that it comes with.
