When you have a kid who struggles with handwriting, you could get a bunch or workbooks and make the kid sit down and practice writing the alphabet a dozen times a day. Or you can get some fancy parchment, a quill and inkwell, and suggest the child scribe some proclamations for her very own kingdom. I chose the latter. And now my kid asks me several times a day to get her scroll supplies so she can write some more proclamations. And her handwriting has improved noticeably. Thank you Leather Village, for that! The paper itself is lovely. It's thick and heavy, so ink will not show through at all unless you spill a big puddle of ink on the page. It's soft, and rolls up beautifully into a scroll. The edges are nicely deckled and the paper looks wonderfully aged. The size (a bit larger than a regular sheet of paper), is a perfect size for a scroll or proclamation. It writes smoothly, though I will say that some fiber does end up in the quill after a while and needs to be cleaned off. Overall, this has been one of my favorite homeschool purchases! For most any purpose where you want to feel like you're writing in the medieval times, this is a perfect option!

I’m really happy with the quality of this paper. It’s a great value for the price. The paperweight is light, it’s not the type of paper that I would use for watercolor in my style at least not for heavy washes for a lighter dry brush style artwork it would work. But overall, the paper itself is beautiful with the deckled edge the vintage tea stain. The only thing I would recommend on the part of the manufacturer for leather Village is to not tie the twine string around the pack of paper so tightly because it creates a dent and permanent crease into the paper which then makes the paper unusable for what I need on my end… the sheets that were unsalvageable for what I need. I put aside to use as test prints for later artwork.

I was extremely pleased with this paper. It's super absorbent so I had to use a ton of water with the watercolors to do any sort of wash. Because I had to use a lot of water, I did end up having to do a lot of layering of color too. However, the end result is great and the paper didn't warp at all. As someone else said, it does not hold up to erasing. It's nice and thick - no paint bled through, despite my excessive water use. I really love how soft the paper is to the touch as well.

This is a great product ,rustic 100% rag cotton best for watercolor products and inks.These Indians are true craftsmen and women.

I'm not sure why it's advertised as watercolor paper, but I really like the look and feel of it. I got it for dip pen calligraphy and find that it does bleed a bit, depending on how much ink is on the pen. This can be mitigated for my purposes by minimizing the amount of ink on the pen as much as possible. I've included an example of my first attempt (before I knew about the class) and another after I started using my techniques to minimize the bleed (note that a blotch was intentionally added to enhance the message of the quote). As I said, I really like the look and feel of the paper in any case. If you are interested in using this paper, just know care is needed in how you might use it.

I absolutely loved this paper. I used it to write handwritten notes for each of my wedding guests, and it was perfect for that. Honestly, if I had better handwriting (and a better pen), they would’ve been even more beautiful. If you want a vintage paper - this is it for you. It’s a great value for the price. A few pieces had small marks, but I actually liked that, it gave each one a unique, vintage character and not some perfect clean slate piece of paper. The design is very cute with a classic, old-world feel, and the cotton content is nice and substantial. Super easy to use and exactly what I was picturing to give to my guests.

This paper is lovely. I purchased it to make fantasy maps and it works very well with my watercolors. It is a nice weight and has a great feel to it.

It is VERY INTERESTING paper. I’m giving it 5 stars because of its uniqueness. So far I have only done backgrounds in watercolour on it. Paint absorbs and blends nicely. I’m an amateur water colour painter so barebthat in mind. I love the texture and frayed edges.

I had a Halloween themed game coming up quickly and I wanted to add some authenticity to the adventure by providing my players with spell scrolls. But I didn't have the time to fuss about tea staining paper to mimic old parchment. So when I remembered the leather journal I've bought from this seller before, I checked to see if they had stacks of individual sheets. And they did! The recycled cotton paper, the gentle staining, and dappled edges, all combined to help create the beautiful effect I was after for hand scribing spell scrolls and letters to my players. I'll be buying these again! Did I mention how amazing the paper feels?
