FITNATE Mist Maker, 12 LED Mister Fogger Water Fountain Pond Fog Machine Atomizer Air Humidifier, ultrasonic Mist fogger with Splash Guard, Perfect for Halloween and Other Holidays

Bought this to make a witches cauldron decoration for Halloween. I put it into the cauldron and filled the pot with water per the directions, but the "smoke" wouldn't rise up out of the cauldron. So I ended up putting a bowl upside down inside the bucket, set the fogger on the bowl, and filled with water to where it reached the fogger. Worked like a charm!! It was just a s.all display, but it served it's purpose! Would not fill a room with smoke, you would need a bigger fogger for that effect. CAUTION: this fogger spits water! It might be because of how high to the top of the bucket I had to put it, but just be warned it has the potential to damage anything close to it or what it sits on! I had mine outside so it wasn't a deal breaker for me. The lighting effect was pretty cool, and it was bright enough to glow into the smoke and make it look spooky. Good product, does what is advertised.

The Fitate Mist Maker works well. I could get a good 2 inches plus of mist above the waterline when the mist maker was properly submerged. Just so you know, my application was some different from the product's purpose. I was asked to make a "smoking" volcano for my grandson's 5th birthday that was a dinosaur Jurassic theme. Typical 5-year old kid interest. Dry ice was suggested, but I didn't want to trust the kids to keep their hands away from the dry ice for their own safety. I decided to try the Fitnate Mist Maker and glad I did. It makes enough mist for a nice 'smoking' volcano effect. The LEDs provide a nice effect. More important, it's safe even when they put their grimy cake smeared hands in the water. The low voltage power to the mist maker keeps it electrically safe. Several kids sacrificed small dinosaur toys to the volcano and then tried to retrieve them to safety. No kids or dinosaurs injured. Why did I give four starts to the Fitnate Mist Maker? Mostly because the plastic splash guard doesn't stay secure on the mist maker. In part it's because of a loose fit and because the stiff cord with that black circular gizmo on it knock it loose. Placing the Fitnate Mist Maker into any container requires holding down the splash guard onto the generator while positioning the cord so that the generator bottom stayed flat in the container and the cord or "gizmo" didn't tilt the generator or knock the splash guard off. Next time I'm going to try it in a large punch bowl with real punch. Nice effect when I used it in a medium sized bowl with water.

I liked the lights and the mist. Every 3 days of use I cleaned the mister, but the product stopped working after a year.

This mister was SO easy to set-up and the perfect size for our medium cauldron! Decent quality for the price. Just plugged it into an extension cord to get it where we needed it to be set up. and it lasted the whole night without issues. The fog definitely added a bit more magic and whimsy to our decor. The fog/mist was just the right amount too. You do have to make sure to follow the directions and not flood the mister/fogger under water or it won't work. The water level needs to be just below the plastic hood, and in a container that can catch the mist that can spit out, otherwise the area surrounding the fogger/mister will become damp. We used two waterproof lights in the cauldron to get lighting to show up a bit better. They floated around the mister and did not inhibit the fog ability at all. Hope this helps! Happy decorating!

I bought this to use as a water mister for a Halloween cauldron. I tried adding more water, leaving the water low, raising the bowl of water that I had within the cauldron so that it was closer to the top, and nothing really worked. It does mist, which is great if you want to see the plastic thing poking out of the top of the cauldron and ruining the illusion. When you put enough water in so that you're not constantly worried about the water level, the splashing increases even with the guard on the top, but the mist never ends up going over the edge of the cauldron. It's also a bummer that you can't select the color LED that you would like, just cycles through all the different colors. I regret this purchase. No amount of adjustments, trying on the different caps and guards that were included with the product or shifting things around made it work.

For the price this mister is great! Arrived quickly and was packaged neatly. The splash guard is a little flimsy and doesn’t like to stay in one piece but once you get it put on it stays in place, and trust me you want the splash guard on because you’ll have a soaking wet mess without it! It produces a good amount of mist in a 12” bowl. The LED lights are surprisingly bright but the color transitions could be a bit better. Overall it’s super easy to setup and use. I didn’t need the instructions. You’re supposed to use distilled water or add a bit of table salt to the water but so far it’s working perfectly with tap water (well water). Definitely recommend!

Worked great at a kids' Halloween party for our witch's brew punch. I wasn't keen on it actually being in the punch, so I bought a small candy dish in the wedding prep aisle at a big box store and clipped it to the inside of the punch bowl, put the mist maker and some water in there, and it worked out fine. (punch = rainbow sherbet and sierra mist - simple, tasty, and kinda frothy looking, so it goes along with the misting action) I'm glad someone in a review for a different mister pointed to this one with the splash guard. It still sent a few drops here and there; I imagine a lot more water gets shot around without the guard. Like other reviews have said, it's effective but gives a limited amount of mist. Buy 2 if you're in doubt it will be enough. It's great for the money you spend, and you don't have to buy special chemicals to run it. I give it a Siskel & Ebert rating of two thumbs up. (Amazon is asking me to rate a remote control - I didn't get a remote control with the mist maker.)

Was pleasantly surprised at the quality and its performance as it is not the most expensive. The instructions are kind of non existant but it’s rather easily assembled. Only 3 parts to it. Most important thing is written and that is that it needs at least 3cm (roughly an inch) of water to function. Also pleasantly surprised that it will not turn on if there isn’t enough water and I suspect it will also shut off if the water becomes too low. I didn’t try it so don’t take my word for it. It will work without the little top but I suspect it will spittle even more as it splashes a little even with it. Included a short video with both in light or darkness what it looks like when it’s working.

You can get the same thing a couple of pounds cheaper without the splash guard topper, but they do tend to end up making whatever table/surface you put them on wet with the water splashing out. The splash guard is simple and effective and saves having to constantly dry up around it whilst in use.

Great, affordable mist maker for Halloween. Looked fantastic on the night. Without the splash guard you get way more mist with a fantastic billowing effect, but you also get a lot of water thrown around, which is fine if you've got it outside. With the splash guard there's fewer mist tendrils. There's still some droplets that get thrown out when using the splash guard, it doesn't stop it completely, but you can see from the images and video that they are vastly reduced. When it first arrived, it did cut out when it fell over in the cauldron. Removing it and placing it back in the water resolved the issue. On the night it also cut out but it had not fallen over and the water level was still plenty high enough, so I don't know what caused the issue. Removing and placing it back in the water resolved the issue once again though. It's perhaps not the most robust thing in light of this. Hopefully it's not a faulty one. So far so good, but only time will tell.
