Plants in the bathtub and more
I like this planter a lot, even though it isn't going to serve my original intention. I bought it to consolidate all my happy and growing jade plants in my living room. Sorry, but it's just not sleek and modern enough to be a focal point of the room. However, it's not going back. No way. I know exactly what I'm going to do with it. Shortly we are moving to a new condo with a big bathroom and correspondingly big bathtub sitting beside a big window. We are shower people, so I am planning to put plants in the bathtub. This planter is the perfect device to accomplish that. It's tall enough that the plants will show. And it has all those handy features we really value--an indicator when water is needed, easy watering ports, easy draining ports, plastic legs so the porcelain won't be scratched. It's perfect. In addition, I highly recommended it to a family member who has a balcony garden with lots of sun. The ample water storage area and "water-me" sensor will make his life a little easier and his garden a little more lovely.

Fantastic Little Planters!
Ordered two and they have been a fantastic way to get my planters off the floor of our small balcony and still have my herb garden! As a bonus they look fantastic and all of my plants are thriving. Another massive bonus is that their customer service is amazing. For that reason alone I would recommend their products. Despite their HQ being in Australia, they were incredibly responsive and sent replacement parts right away (I had received the "bench" version instead of the "rail"). Only modification I'd recommend thus far would be to added a small piece of foam/padding under the rail mounts as the railings on my balcony are painted and the mounts can easily mar the top of the rail. Highly recommend if you are looking to maximize your outdoor space.

Easy to assemble and works well
Easy to assemble and works well. The water indicator is easy to see and a good reminder for when it needs more water. I tend to get a little water loss when I fill up on one side, but that may just be that I need to tighten a screw. Design wise it looks attractive in theory, but in reality the white gets dirty on my balcony, and from afar it looks like I have a bathtub up there rather than a stylish planter.

A great self-watering planter for indoor use!
I have quite a few (20+) Indoor plants in various pots, with circular baking pans to capture overwatering. The pots range from the ugly plastic nursery pots, to expensive ceramic, none of which accept uniform watering. I (formerly) had a nice Brazilian teak floor that is now discolored from my attempts to water my plants. It finally occurred to me to find a potting solution that watered from below so that my to-down watering wasn't spilling all over the place. Self watering that would allow me to water a number of plants just by filling a self-watering planter reservoir was appealing. I went online and found that the top-rated self-watering planter, on several websites, was the Glowpear. I always check out negative reviews first and found that there were issues expressed by several other reviewers about products damaged during shipping, difficulty in mounting the legs, and leaking. Leaking in an interior planter box application is of course really concerning. 1.Shipment Damage. I ordered 4 units. They arrived via UPS with only minor packaging dings or gouges. Upon opening the boxes (which are HEAVY cardboard) I noted that the packaging was very well designed, No damage to any parts whatsoever. All assembly parts present and accounted for. So far so good. 2. Leg Installation. Each box has two legs, on either end. Each leg attaches to the box structure with 4 threaded bolts, 2 each on the top and 2 on the bottom of each leg. For the 4 planter boxes and 8 corresponding legs, 16/16 bottom bolts seated perfectly. For some reason, the top bolts were problematic. 4/16 seated perfectly without manipulation, 8/16 seated imperfectly (but resisted pull-out), 4/16 never seated at all, just free spun?? Good news is that the legs are also firmly press fit into the planter box and having a perfect seating on the bottom bolts, are not going anywhere. However, the maker should look into making the upper bolt connections more viable. If I buy more units I will dry fit and, if necessary, will incorporate epoxy or other high-strength adhesive to bind things together. to compensate for the upper bolt mounting stuff. Problem with this is that you can't , once epoxied, take apart the unit, later. 3. Leaking. Why wait until you've spend hours adding soil and plants to the planter only to find out later that it somehow leaks? Following assembly I filled the reservoir on each box to check for leaks. None in any of the 4. So, I opened up 1 of the 4 drain plugs and drained all 4. Then I planted. BTW, each box will take > 30 lbs soil + plant mass--pretty heavy. After a week no leaks. 4. Filling Water. Please follow the Seller's instructions! After planting, first top water the plants and planting medium SLOWLY, 1-2 gallons, to thoroughly soak the soil. I used 2- gallons because there was no reason not to (given that the reservoir is 3.5 gallons), so there was NO risk of overflow. I set a timer for 2-hours to allow drain down through the soil. After 2 hours I added water to the side wall filling locations until the "all-fill" indicator tab popped up. All 4 planters filled perfectly. I stopped watering just as soon as the tabs popped up.. As a double check I looked at the twin overflow containers at either side of the planters. Dry. So, no leaking that I can see. I will update my review as the plants grow (and hopefully thrive) in their new homes. If they do thrive, this is a great value for the money. So, take my 5/5 rating below as provisional subject to update.

I really wanted to like these ...
We purchased four of these for our deck a year and a half ago. We liked the sleek appearance and self watering feature. Have had very good luck with self watering containers for my tomatoes so these seemed like a no brainer. They arrived and we were impressed. Loved the styling, construction seemed solid and they were easy to set-up. The first problems arose after they were put together. Of the four planters only two of the water "gauges" worked. Since they were all in the same location we figured we could live with that since we had two that worked that we could gauge the others from. Then it was impossible to keep all of the green overflow bins attached. At least 50% of them would fall off repeatedly. Since the planters were outdoors, this again wasn't a big deal but a definite "no go" if you are planning on using them indoors. Now 18 moths later three of the four leak from the bottom of the planter (not the overflow mind you). The reservoirs leak rendering the self-watering feature useless. In addition the sides of the planters are beginning to bow out detracting from the appearance. Given the price I can not begin to tell you how disappointed we are. Given the hot climate we are in these were saving me from having to water every day ... not anymore.

Good quality and easy to assemble
Purchased this elevated planter to sit over our spa controls on the pool deck, protecting it from the constant blazing desert sun, while allowing access to use the control buttons. The sleek modern design, size, light color and UV resistant plastic were also features we were looking for. This item exceeds our expectations.

This plant pot looks nice but it is not self-watering. I followed all the instructions to a t, but the plants all died from lack of water. I then did the same process again and the plants started to die. I ended up watering them directly and they were fine. Do not rely on this to water your plants for you.
