Sandisk 32GB USB 3.0 iXpand Mini Flash Drive Stick For iPhone 6 SE iPad

I wanted a device to back up photos on my iPhone 14 running iOS 17.1 while on trips in case it was damaged or stolen. This USB device is easy to use and backs up docs, music, and videos in addition to photos (haven't tested backups with these other items.) The only other things I can think of that a potential buyer might want to know are: 1) if you have edited the photo on your phone, you will often get both the edited and original versions of the photo when you back up to this device. This situation is actually a bit better than Apple iPhone promises - it says it will only send the original photo to your plugged in device when you export a photo. 2) the USB device is very slender so you may want to keep it in a tiny plastic bag so the tiny cover for the iPhone connector doesn't get lost, the bare USB connector doesn't get damaged, and the USB stick doesn't get lost.

Simple to use and comes with a companion app that makes backing up your data so easy. The app was a bit buggy when I first used it but has improved since buying it. Plenty of storage and good formatting thanks to the app.

Alright, right off the bat, if your going to use this you'll also need to download VLC player. As a storage device, i'd say that it works well. Not perfect...but well. It's slow to upload images and videos but downloads from the device are fast. Transferring files from computer to iPhone (or pad) is easy but like I said in the first sentence, VLC player or a media player of your choice will come in handy as not all files can be played naturally on apple products.

UPDATE after 6 months: I tried to use this in my iPhone a few days ago and the SanDisk app didn't recognize the drive. Very strange since, when I plugged the drive into the phone, it immediately started the app! I went through their recommended steps for reconnecting but no go. Since it's under 1 year warranty, I filled out a return authorization request with SanDisk, which they approved, and I just mailed it back for replacement. Props to them for making it easy to replace. Hopefully the new unit works better. I lowered the score to 3 stars from 4, because it needed replacing. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Pros: It's a nice small size. The iXpand software works well with the iPhone to back up photos. Performance is very good. Cons: The cover for the iPhone plug is miniscule, has no way to attach a cord to it, so it's gonna get lost quickly. And it doesn't come with a cover for USB connector, so it's going to get lint/dirt/whatever in it.

This flash drive is very small and easy to use. The app is excellent. There was no difficulty in plugging in the device to my I phone with the otterbox protective cover. The device is approved by Apple and works great. It does get very hot when plugged into a laptop.

This is the second one of these I have purchased. I love the way you can use it on any device. I plug it into my iphone and can save pics and free up space. This one was for my wife, who is a picture fanatic. She had over 500 pictures on her phone, that are all now on the ixpand drive. Great way to save and transfer pics and videos to different items.

This iXPand flash drive works great for easy “drag and drop” photo transfers from my iPhone 8 or my wife’s iPhone 6+ to my iMac! Unfortunately that isn’t what I bought it for,.. the advertising talks about using it to ‘play your music’,.. well that’s all it can do as far as music,... and not very well on the iPhone 6+. It cannot be used to load and transfer music from your iPhone to your iMac (like it can do with photos). You can however drag and drop transfer a copy of your iTunes music library (mine is mostly from “ripped” CDs that I own) to the iXPand flash drive, and then play them from the iXPand drive through the iPhone 8 (OS13.3),.. but on my wife’s iPhone 6+ (OS12.4.4) even though I bought the 128gb iXPand flash drive, at only about half full with my music collection, it crashes the iPhone 6+ when “loading” for use in playback, and the album artwork is absent. I’m a long-time iTunes user and I hate the new Apple Music and the whole “streaming” B.S.,.. I was looking for a solution to have my full music library available for play on our iPhones without the “Cloud”, but this isn’t it for a lower memory iPhone.

This is trusted product. I purchased one a year ago for myself and this is my second one. I ordered this for my aunt. It is really easy to use. I get to transfer all of my videos and photos from iPhone without a hassle and I can also add a security code so now one can have access to the files on it.
