I used this right out of the box….mixed a 50-50 mix of distilled white vinegar and water…..ran the microwave for 6 minutes and then wiped it off…..stuck on food came off easily and the sides and top were wiped clean…..I would recommend this item

My microwave is never cleaned (owned it for about 5 years. I was worried about all the dried up crud, but this worked great. All I had to do was wipe it down (I still sprayed cleaner after using this but it likely wasn't necessary).I wasn't sure exactly what vinegar to add - research on cleaning something else told me to use white vinegar, but I found diluted "cleaning" vinegar here on Amazon, and used some water but not as much.I honestly wish I had taken a before and after shot buy its pretty clean now - I mean, not sparkling brand new off the store shelf but if my microwave was at a garage sale or thrift store, I would buy it used.

Works as advertised.

I have been struggling with a constant odor in my microwave for over 1 year. I have tried many cleaners, letteing the door stay open for hours so it would air out, but nothing worked. I was to the point where I was going it throw it out and replace it. I saw this microwave steam cleaner in a pop ad. I gave it a try maybe 2 months ago. I am glad I did not thow away my microwave as it always worked very well. This very very simple product is so, so, so, so easy to use. I cleamed the microwave on all sides again. You fill the silicone gadget with 1/2 white viniger and 1/2 water. Put it in the mocrowave 6 or so minutes. Let the gadget cool and remove it. Just for good measure I did it twice. I haven't had any problems with that smell at all.

Not durable

I should of had this a long time ago. It works for me in my microwaves making cleanup from the kiddos much easier. This is now essential for my cleanup routine

Followed directions as indicated on the box the item came in. After a couple minutes in the microwave the item started popping. Once the time in the microwave was reached I removed the item to discover it had melted and it hadn't really accomplished very much.

It works wonderfully.
