I’ve had this starter for 2 months with absolutely no complaints. I bought it for lighting charcoal in a chimney because of its length and shape. This starter has not disappointed. It does exactly what I expected it to do.

I've been using this with my BGE and it has performed flawlessly. With it's performance and dependability, I really don't need a backup starter, but it's better to have and not need, than to need and not have.

Works perfectly. Like the long handle. Watch out that the flames don't burn the plastic part of the handle.

Great electric starter!

It works as advertised. I put a few briquettes at the bottom of the fire pit, add the electric starter, and put a few briquettes on top. It starts to smoke after a minute or two and I have a nice fire after 6.5 minutes. Make sure you follow directions and don't leave it active in the fire pit any longer than 8 minutes or it could melt. Set a timer so you don't forget.
