Absolutely love it
I had no discomfort with the solution, i.e. no burning or itching. I followed the instructions to the T and the perm came out beautifully. This is the first one that makes my hair fall in nice curls and spirals. I will definitely purchase again when it's time for a refresher perm. Update: I just have to say it again...I am SO THRILLED with this perm. It looks and feels amazing. I had nobody to help roll my hair so that took a while. I rolled my hair in a spiral manner and it was all worth it. I have thin, fine hair and with this perm, this CURLS (yes curls not frizz) one would NEVER GUESS. I am simply in love with this product. Please do yourself a favor and buy it (please follow the instrustions and you can't go wrong). Have your bestie come over, pull out a bottle of wine and have fun.

Worked soooo well!
I was a little nervous because I have very long, very fine, thinning hair that I color on my own with box color every two months! I have read that perming colored hair can be damaging. I colored last two weeks ago. I have natural curl in my hair but since it's been getting finer and thinner, the curl is not even or pretty anymore. I wanted to perm to enhance my curl, make it even, and make my hair appear fuller. This Ogilvie home perm did EXACTLY that! And with ZERO damage! My hair curled so nicely with this perm. I used jumbo tangerine rods. I rolled it myself and with long hair I admit I didn't roll them very evenly but you'd never know it with the perfect curl I got! My hair still feels normal. No damage. I left the curling solution on 12 minutes. I'm so happy I went ahead and did this! Oh and it didn't lighten my color at all. I read that it could, but it didn't.

Great perm for a 96 year old lady.
My mom likes to have her baby fine white hair permed. This perm worked great. Didn’t burn her scalp and curled her hair nicely. Delivery was fast.

All grey and had no problem.
I read where someone said they had grey hair and it was horrible outcome. I have all grey hair and it turned out pretty good. I am 70 and very fine hair. My perms never turned out so I started doing my perms and my mother's 35 years ago. I found a great perm after trying many and them not working. I got the perms at Sally's but I couldn't find the perm on their site. So I hunted around and ordered this perm for fine hair even though it was very expensive . Normally the perm I get is 7 dollars. Anyway because of virus I wasn't going out to get a perm. So I gave myself a perm and it was very difficult to curl and put the perm on hair. However I did it and it turned out pretty good.I did not go by the directions at all. I did 19 minutes when the directions say 12 for fine hair. I have fine hair but it is also hard to wave which they say keep it on for 18 minutes. My hair is soft and was worried because I seen people say it left their hair real dry. I used https://www.amazon.com/Perms-Only-Professional-Pre-Wrap-Lotion/dp/B005NISFUG/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 it is a pre wrap for perms. I see Amazon is out of it but might could google it. If you don't have the prewrap I still believe the perm is a good one for fine grey hair or just fine hair but check the curl and you may want to leave it one longer than they say.

Easy, quick, and not damaging to your hair. Klutz-proof ;)
I have used this twice with good results. The processing time is 20 minutes or less, depending on how your hair holds a curl. I have naturally wavy hair but the waves and curls are not very uniform. This gives me the amount of curl I want while still looking natural. I have used it twice and nobody has asked if I have had a perm. Update: I just used this again, and seriously, even a klutz will get good results. I covered my head with rods, but not in the tidy rows in the directions. And thinking I remembered the process, I didn't mix part A and B -- oops-- so I applied part B after part A and hoped it would still turn out okay.Still turned out great ! I also varied the rod size for a natural look. When I first reviewed this my product hair was just below my shoulders, now it is a medium length bob. This gave me more bounce, definition and curl than my naturally wavy hair.I used it for the minimum amount of processing time with good results ( 12 minutes). It says not to shampoo immediately after, but I would recommend a leave-in conditioner or hair serum to pamper those fresh waves or curls.

Both perms didn't turn out
I bought two boxes. One for my sons mullet and one for myself. I have gotten perms my whole life by my mother. Never have I had a perm not turn out. I always make sure I'm not on my period and to not use conditioning shampoo. My son and I have totally different hair therfore I knew the results may be different. I wish I didn't throw the box away because I bet both boxes were expired because both my son and my perm did not turn out. All it did was damage our hair! I am so upset over $30 for a perm that fried our hair and left no curls at all!! Extremely upset! What a waste of money and time!

Did not work!
I noticed other reviews mentioned no results and that is the same problem I had. I followed directions, definitely had no damage but I had no perm either. I have permed my own hair but not with this product.

Easy to use
I give myself a perm once a year or so. I’ve been using this product for 3 or 4 years. Trial and error taught me to use 1/2” to 1” perm rods so I don’t end up with mushy ends and a bush on my head. I recommend this product but I’m sure it depends on hair type. For reference, I have lots of hair, but it is fine and very straight.
