I have ordered multiple products from eXtremeRate over the years, and have come to expect a few things from all of their products: a signature ‘soft’ feel, high quality materials, included tools/spare parts, and most of all, STELLAR customer service. My experience with this product was yet another example of why eXtremeRate is the best at what they do. If you want to upgrade your GBA SP with an aftermarket shell: look no further. As mentioned before, the shell has a very ‘soft’ matte feel to it (as opposed to what I can only describe as a ‘squeaky’ feeling from OEM plastic surfaces). I honestly prefer this shell to the original; the quality is THAT top-notch. eXtremeRate made sure to include every piece necessary for a full shell replacement, including hinge caps and screen bumpers in matching colors and even a reproduction label for a fun individual design. This is a complete package if you want to overhaul your SP’s look and feel. I paired this shell with an IPS screen and it looks phenomenal. Upon initial installation, I faced some difficulties with the battery cover (be careful; it is a VERY snug fit). In doing so, I noticed a small defect in that one piece and eXtremeRate was more than happy to send me a full replacement with express shipping. That kind of customer service is why I will always purchase their products. All in all, I could not be more satisfied with this purchase and highly recommend both this product and eXtremeRate as a seller. I don’t think anyone does aftermarket shells better than them.

Amazing shell! Made my old Gameboy look brand new! My only critique is the screws they provide can easily strip. I highly recommend using the original screws of your Gameboy. They're much tougher and don't strip as easily (if at all). Otherwise this shell replacement is amazing and the replacement process was super easy!

This is a very good quality case. I needed my old gameboy advance casing Removed and replaced ASAP. The outside of this new gameboy advance casing Feels really nice and smooth. It came with all of the buttons, screws, and screwdrivers needed. I will say it did take me a couple of times screwing, and unscrewing to figure out everything, but in the end it looks in and feels amazing.

This shell feels really good, fits excellently like the OEM gameboy shell, and the instructional video they have on their YouTube channel is very well made. However on mine, the color coating (which seems to be sprayed on) did not have good coverage on my hinge cover plate. I plan to order another product from them so I may see if I can get a replacement for just that bit, I hate to buy a whole new case for something I frankly don’t care about that much. Other than that, the only nitpick I have is the fact that it doesn’t have a spot for a Nintendo logo sticker

No fitting issues with the plastic casing. Buttons are all functional and tactile as they should be. The plastic casing seems to be coated in a plastidip-type material, for hard use this may be an issue as it could rub off eventually, but for minimal use/display purposes this is fine. The coating actually feels really nice to hold, too, feels much "softer" than the original hard plastic shell. Overall I'm very pleased with this product. It did exactly what I wanted with less hiccups than I expected and best of all, it is actually available, unlike some of the other replacement shells for these retro consoles. I went for the basic red because I always used to look at the other kids with red SPs and be jealous, but the unique designs and colors are a big plus in my book, too. Almost with I had another SP so that I could have a chrome gold one, too.

The screws need to come in separate packets and need to be labeled. I ended up destroying the product because they look so similar that you cannot tell them apart. The manufacturer also includes this helpful little booklet saying they won't give you instructions without an internet connection so they can "save the planet". TERRIBLE build experience.

I do a lot of handheld game console repairs/reshells and these extreme rate gameboy advance sp replacement shells are as good as aftermarket shells come. If you are super picky about finish, I would generally say dont get a painted shell.. these however are really nice and you likely will be happy. I have had it built for quite a while now and forgot to review, so I can say durability is good if you take care of your things. Cheers
