Excelent sturdy spring compressor, use with confidence, never felt strained during winding. Great design, heavy inner and outer tubing suround a large thread winder. Bottom grip, clamps around the coil, and can be adjusted by 40mm on the theaded section of the outer tube, whilst compressed. The safety slide keeps both compressors a fixed distance appart and avoids slippage around the coil. Just wind it evenly x3 turns per side. Its way better then my old long thread with cast iron hooks at each end.

Fantastic bit of kit. Have used spring compressors for ages but this design is by far the safest. Locks spring and easy to use.

No instructions whatsoever (to minimise liability perhaps?), but managed to successfully replace both front suspension bushes on a VW T5 van without any problems or personal injury. I disassembled before use to grease the bolt threads, made sure the cross-brace was securely attached, made sure the spring clamp collars were secure, and tightened each side 2-turns alternately until the spring was just compressed enough to spin the top bush. The top nut can then be safely removed. Put safety first, take your time, keep the strut pointing in a safe direction (both ends), and stay out of the 'firing line'. It's not as scary as it seems.

This is a serious kit.well engineered.And does the job safely and securely.

I used these to compress the spring on a BMW X1. The fact they clamp over the pring at both sides and have the safety ring makes them a lot safer than the open jaw type. They are strong, well packaged and effective. I never once felt they would slip round the spring like my old ones. Well worth the money for the peace of mind.

Excellent spring compressors, used for front springs on a nissan navara and handled them with ease, feels safe and sturdy when in use.
