After a much frustrating search for one, I'm shocked this one works REALLY well! Despite the negative reviews...
I was heart-broken when my cassette adapter died but it was to be expected since it lasted me about 4-5 years. I instantly began searching on Amazon and it was a bit difficult to make a decision. I saw the #1 best seller but it got a lot of bad reviews, and it was a dollar or two more than this one which had a bit more positive reviews. When I made the decision to give it a shot and 2 days later, it came, I was crossing my fingers that it wouldn't make a clicking noise, it wouldn't do some odd rewind as many of the other reviewers have posted, and that clear, nice, sound would come out.I was really, REALLY surprised that not only did it work, (I drive a 95 Toyota Corolla and I connect the tape to my Galaxy S6) but it sounded AMAZING! It conveys music on all speakers (my previous one only did it on the right side...I thought it had been my car). It has no clicking noise whatsoever. Like, nada. I can put the volume on blast and it still sounds clear and really good. (Don't worry, I respect other drivers so I don't super blast my music).I'm truly soo happy with my purchase. This was one of those where I was prepared for it to be a cheap and crappy product purchase or simply just doable. It has definitely surpassed both. I don't understand why it has given others problems; perhaps its the car or device. Or maybe I have yet to encounter a problem. But so far it's going along just fine: worked on the first try; clear, amazing sound; and it didn't break my wallet. :)

Sounds great
I've been using this adapter for 2 weeks now, and it's working great with my '98 Corolla. The sound quality is amazing, it's full stereo and it's got a nice flat response. I've wasted some time and money on cheaper fake-tapes but they'd always do something weird like drop out high frequencies, hiss, or muffle. It sounds like using an aux cable, except it's got that usual tape adapter thing where you can't turn your player too loud or it only amplifies the low frequencies.Objectively: stereo, barely loses any definition, can not make a tape deck respond like a 3.5mm jack but can make it sound like one, not the quietest mechanism, doesn't come in beige or tan, cable is too long/long enough/just right (2 or 3ft), works every time in my case.

Genuine, Absolute, Garbage.
Bought this thinking that, since it's RCA, it must be good, right? Wrong. Straight out of the box, I plug it into my car's cassette and the player rejects it. Turns out there's protective tape on the contact point that they neglect to tell you about, but whatever. I can appreciate wanting to protect the product for the consumer. Except for the fact that the tape is obnoxious to remove, especially if you don't want to scratch the contact point. I get the tape off and put it in. Success! Now time to plug it into my phone. Now comes the next issue- the plastic surrounding the plug is too fat for it to go into most phone case aux holes. Oh, you don't like the idea of leaving your phone naked and defenseless? This adapter thinks you can get bent. So after removing my case, I plug this wretched thing into my phone. And what do I hear? My music, weakly coming out of my speakers. It sounds tinny and dim- not much in the way of low frequencies with this. I'm far from an audiophile, and even I knew the sound quality was garbage. Furthermore, you know when your headphones get old, and they start making that static noise when you touch the wire or bend it a certain way? Yeah, this has that issue straight out of the box. A brand new adapter has the same issue as my aging one. Pathetic. As a final slap in the face, it's INELIGIBLE FOR RETURNS. As if they knew that these abominations were garbage, and had to get rid of them as quickly as possible. RCA should act more ethically than this.

Good and cheap, but have a feeling it will die far too soon...
I got this adapter about two weeks ago and have been using it nonstop in my daily commute.PROS:-Sound quality is good, and is able to handle high-volume output without sounding too crackly.-Cheap. That's why you're buying it, right? No need to up-buy if this one works.... And it does, but not without a bunch of tiny concerns...CONS:-Volume level. Just a hair too quiet. While on the freeway, I generally have to crank the volume all the way up on both my car speaker and my phone to be able to hear it at a decent volume.-Crackles. The cassette tape itself crackles while running. It does not effect the output in any way, but is slightly irritating at first.-Build quality. I'm not afraid the thing is going to fall apart in my hands, but he cable is very wimpy and I know it will meet its death prematurely when the cable snags on something.Overall, if you're looking for a cheap Cassette Adapter, this one will do.

Works perfectly and offers great sound quality...
I am not sure why this is getting reviewed so poorly as I have had fantastic success with this item. I own a 2003 Jetta that has both a tape deck and a CD player but alas, no MP3 plug in. In preparing for a long drive I purchased this to listen to things on my phone and it has worked absolutely perfectly. The sound quality is great, just as good as the radio and CD player and it has caused no issue. Sometimes with these products you can hear the tape spinning, but that is not the case here offering a nice clean sound. The cord is plenty long so you don't have to worry about breaking the piece off into your phone or pulling the tape out of the deck. I can't believe how inexpensive it was for how well it worked. Again, I have had great success with this and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who needs something like this.
